Air Serbia Completes Fleet Modernization With Final Embraer E195-E1 Delivery From Azorra
Air Serbia has taken another step in modernizing its fleet with the arrival in Belgrade of the last of three Embraer E195 E1s from lessor Azorra.
The deliveries – the first two took place in April and November last year – mark Azorra’s first customer relationship in the Balkan nation.
The E195-E1s will support Air Serbia’s network expansion and fleet renewal program, introducing jet services on routes previously served by ATR turboprop aircraft.
“The E195-E1 offers the efficiency and flexibility needed to strengthen Air Serbia’s regional connectivity while enhancing the passenger experience,” Azorra CEO John Evans said.
Air Serbia also operates four E190s on lease from Bulgaria Air.
“Welcoming these versatile Embraer E195-E1 aircraft represents another important step in our fleet strategy as we continue to renew and expand our operations,” Air Serbia CEO Jiří Marek said. “The aircraft offer the right balance of performance, comfort, and efficiency to serve routes across Southeast, Western and Central Europe, allowing us to introduce jet service on shorter sectors and improve connectivity for our passengers.
Azorra noted that Air Serbia is the latest member of the lessor’s growing portfolio of European airline customers, highlighting the increasing demand for crossover jets to support fleet modernization and route development across the region.
Unusually, Air Serbia also operates the other aircraft type in the small narrowbody jet category, with two Airbus A220-300s on lease from airBaltic, and up to four from the Latvian carrier expected to be flying for Air Serbia over the summer season.
