Technology company Arinc has introduced a locally-based IT service management programme for airports. The ARINC Virtual Service Desk solution provides interested airports with local language support and the option for ARINC Managed Services to perform “first-level” resolution.
Oman Air will be celebrating the launch of flights to its latest destination, the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo, at a special event in the city on February 26th. Four flights a week from Oman's capital city, Muscat, to Colombo were announced in November last year.
Iberia will operate its thrice-weekly Madrid-Washington Dulles service scheduled to launch March 29 with an A340 featuring IB's upgraded business class with lie-flat beds. A fourth weekly flight will operate June-August. It also will add a fourth-weekly MAD-Boston frequency in March and a fifth in June, with daily service scheduled to start in July. Ryanair will launch thrice-weekly Newcastle-Oslo Rygge service May 19. Wizz Air will launch twice-weekly Lviv-Treviso service May 14 aboard a new A320.
American Airlines Cargo yesterday opened a new Los Angeles cargo terminal adjacent to its previous LAX cargo terminal. "The facility will offer streamlined handling capability including a 3,000-sq.-ft. cooler for perishables and expanded areas for courier cargo, mail processing and a designated holding area for live animals," AA said.
American Airlines reached a deal with Chautauqua Airlines to operate AmericanConnection flights out of Chicago O'Hare. Fellow AMR Corp. subsidiary American Eagle was its sole regional partner out of ORD but an AA spokesperson confirmed to ATWOnline that the company's decision to downsize in St. Louis, where it partnered with Chautauqua, prompted the move
