Alitalia to link Rome with Vienna

Skyteam member Alitalia has revealed that it will launch a 2x daily non-stop service from Rome (FCO) to Vienna. The new route will be inaugrated March 28 and be operated with CRJ900 equipment.

The carrier will face competition on the route from low cost operator Niki, which operates 13 weekly frequencies with Airbus A319/320/321 equipment and Star Alliance member Austrian Airlines which operates a 2x daily B737-800 service.
