Lufthansa Technik Signs C&E Material Supply Agreement

Lufthansa Technik and Airline MRO Parts have signed three-year agreement for the supply of consumable and expandable (C&E) materials. The agreement guarantees Airline MRO Parts the availability of C&E materials for its airlines and MRO network across the U.S., including support of all MRO Holdings operating companies.

Joramco, Flyadeal Sign Fresh Terms

Joramco has signed a new agreement with Saudi airline flyadeal. Under the agreement, Joramco will perform major structural repairs on aircraft from flyadeal's Airbus A320neo fleet, which will include central and lateral panels, frame one, bulkhead and aircraft painting. The MRO provider has worked with the Jeddah-based carrier since 2018.

EgyptAir's Maintenance Business Appoints New CEO

EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering has appointed Walid El-Khafif as its new chairman and CEO. El-Kafif, who previously held various engineering positions within EgyptAir, will oversee the company’s development projects related to the MRO supply chain and implementing digital maintenance applications.

AFI KLM E&M Component Agreements

Startup carrier Aeroitalia has signed a component support agreement with AFI KLM E&M, under which the MRO will provide component repairs, a spare parts pool, logistical support and provision of local stocks for the airline’s Boeing 737-800 fleet. AFI KLM E&M also extended its long-term component maintenance contract with Antavia Ametek MRO.

KLM UK Engineering Appoints New Managing Director

KLM UK Engineering has appointed Wayne Easlea as managing director, effective Nov. 14. Easlea, who has been with KLM UK Engineering since 1990, has held various technical roles in base and line maintenance and several management positions within the company.

Joramco, TUI Sign Maintenance Agreement

Joramco has signed an agreement with TUI to perform heavy checks on the carrier’s fleet of Boeing 787 aircraft.

STS, CATTS Sign Training Agreement

STS Aviation Services has signed a three-year agreement with the training provider CATTS. CATTS’ part 147 training program will be fully integrated into STS’ UK operation, covering all of the STS’ technical training requirements.

AAR, Flydubai Sign Component Support Contract

AAR and Flydubai have signed a multi-year flight hour component support contract for the carrier’s Boeing 737MAX fleet. The component inventory for the contract will be located in Dubai.

Air Greenland, Safran Sign Nacelle Service Agreement

Safran Nacelles has signed 12-year agreement with Air Greenland to support the nacelles of the carrier’s fleet of Airbus A330neo aircraft. Safran will provide support at its facility in Pont Audemer, France. Air Greenland will have access to Safran Nacelles’ shared pool of nacelles end-items.

Turkish Technic Joins IATA MRO SmartHub Platform

Turkish Technic has joined International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) MRO SmartHub platform. The company says that the platform will create a new sales channel and platform for on-budget procurement from reliable material sources, contributing to the company’s operations and enhancing its competitiveness.

AJW, Arajet Sign PBH Contract

AJW and the Dominican Republic’s new flag carrier Arajet have signed a power-by-the-hour component support agreement for the airline's Boeing 737MAX aircraft. The agreement consists of supply, repair and overhaul of rotable components. AJW will provide the services from its AJW Technic facility in Montreal.

FL Technics, Wizz Air Sign Wheels And Brakes Agreement

FL Technics and Wizz Air have signed a service agreement for the wheels and brakes of the carrier’s Airbus A320 aircraft fleet. The five-year contract consists of repair and overhaul services, storage, supply chain and management solutions.

Kuwait Airways, AFI KLM E&M Renews Engine Maintenance Contract

Kuwait Airways and AFI KLM E&M have renewed their GE90-115B engine MRO contract through to 2029. The engine powers the airline's Boeing 777-300 aircraft fleet.

AFI KLM E&M Explores VTOL Maintenance

AFI KLM E&M has signed a memorandum of understanding with vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) developer Ascendance Flight Technologies, under which the companies will explore potential collaborations in maintenance solutions for advanced air mobility. These include line maintenance, component repair, mechanic training and airworthiness management for Ascendance's five-seat Atea VTOL, which will use distributed hybrid electric motorization and accept sustainable aviation fuel up to hydrogen.

AAR Donates CRJ 200 To Rock Valley College

AAR has donated a functional Bombardier CRJ 200 aircraft to Rock Valley College. The aircraft was purchased from SkyWest Airlines with grant funding from the state of Illinois. AAR is partnered with Rock Valley College through its EAGLE Career Pathway program, which it is using to help build its workforce in Rockford, Illinois.

Ethiopian Airlines Completes First Boeing 737 Freighter Conversion In Africa

Ethiopian Airlines Group has completed first of three planned Boeing 737-300ER freighter conversions at its Addis Abada facility. Conversion of the second aircraft is expected to be completed within the next few months.

FEAM Appoints New CFO

U.S. MRO provider FEAM Aero has appointed William Bill Wulf as its chief financial officer. Wulf, who has worked in the aviation sector for more than 20 years, has previously held leadership positions at Jet Support Services and NetJets.

Barfield To Offer Honeywell Repair Solution

AFI KLM E&M has announced that its U.S.-based subsidiary Barfield will now offer an OEM repair solution supported by Honeywell. The new offering covers repair services for Boeing 737 and Boeing 777 aircraft display units.

Icelandic Charter Airline Transitions To TRAX eMRO Software

Air Atlanta Icelandic has switched to TRAX eMRO software. The charter carrier has previously been using TRAX Maintenance and Engineering software. With the implementation of the cloud-based maintenance solution, the airline says their employees will be able to access real-time information regardless of their location.

Lufthansa Technik Puerto Rico Appoints New CEO

Lufthansa Technik Puerto Rico has appointed Jorge Speri as its new CEO, effective Oct. 15. Speri, who has held various management positions in Lufthansa Group, will take over from Pat Foley. Foley will become head of business development in the Americas for aircraft maintenance services.

Passion Air Selects Rusada’s Envision

Ghana-based carrier Passion Air has selected Rusada’s Envision software to manage its airworthiness, maintenance and flight operations. The airline has selected seven of the software’s modules, including fleet management, line and base maintenance, flight operations and human resources.

AAR, Unison Expand Aftermarket Distribution Partnership

AAR and Unison Industries have signed a long-term agreement, under which AAR will be the worldwide aftermarket distributor for Unison’s aviation, aerospace and civil land vehicle products. AAR says that the agreement broadens its distribution of select Unison ignitor plugs, ignition leads, harnesses and related spare parts.

STS Opens New Line Maintenance Station

STS Line Maintenance has opened a new line maintenance station in Rochester, New York. The new location is the company’s 35th U.S. line station and 42nd station globally.

AeroRepair Parent Acquires Wheels & Brakes MRO

Aero 3, the parent company of U.S. MRO provider AeroRepair, has acquired Delaware-based Aircrafters, an aftermarket distributor of Collins Aerospace-manufactured wheels and brake parts. As part of the acquisition, Aircrafters will join Aero 3's network of companies consisting of AeroRepair, Hemico and AeroRepair Canada. Aero 3 says that the acquisition will leverage Aircrafter’s machine shop and PMA and DER engineering capabilities.

Bangkok Airways Signs MoU With OVEC

Bangkok Airways has signed a memorandum of understanding with Thailand's Office of Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) to develop additional vocational manpower in the field of aircraft maintenance.

Jet Parts Engineering Receives FAA Approval For PMA Parts, DER Repair

Jet Parts Engineering and its subsidiaries PG Aerotech and Aero Parts Mart have gained FAA approval for 11 PMA parts and one designated engineering representative repair. The approval will cover parts for Airbus A318, A319, A320, A321 and Boeing 737, 747, 757, 767 and 777 aircraft and CF34-8, LEAP and V2500 engines.

American Airlines Names New VP Line Maintenance

American Airlines has promoted Evita Garces as vice president of line maintenance. Garces has worked at American Airlines for more than 21 years and has held several roles across its Tech Ops department.

MTU Aero Engines Appoints New COO

MTU Aero Engines has appointed Silke Maurer as chief operating officer for a period of three years, effective from Feb. 1, 2023. Maurer will take over responsibility for OEM operations. Lars Wagners, the current COO, will take over the position of CEO from Jan. 1, 2023.

Sanad, Triumph Sign Engine MRO Agreement

Abu Dhabi-based engine specialist Sanad has signed an agreement for Triumph Product Support – Grand Prairie to perform engine accessory MRO services on V2500 engines serviced by Sanad. Under the terms of the contract, Triumph will perform the maintenance services on the narrowbody engine at its Texas facility.

Skymark Airlines and MRO Japan have signed an agreement for aircraft maintenance, including heavy maintenance.

Air Mauritius, AFI KLM E&M Renew Component Support Agreement

AFI KLM E&M has extended its component support agreement Air Mauritius' two Airbus A330neo and four A350 aircraft. The renewed agreement consists of component repair services and spare parts pooling access.
