LHT Expands CFM56 Work For Cebu Pacific

Lufthansa Technik (LHT) has broadened its engine MRO contract with Cebu Pacific to include 18 additional shop events for CFM International CFM56-5B engines. The three-year contract will include services at LHT’s engine shops in Hamburg and Dublin.

Proponent Becomes Magee Plastics Component Distributor

Proponent has signed an agreement to become a global distributor of aftermarket products manufactured by Magee Plastics Company, a subsidiary of Trelleborg. Magee specializes in high-performance thermoplastics and composite materials, with products including aircraft window shades, seat parts, lavatory and galley components, flight deck equipment, and sidewall, ceiling and cargo area panels.

Forum Markets Acquires CFM56-7B Engine

Financial technology company Forum Markets has acquired a CFM International CFM56-7B engine from Aero Engine Solutions for approximately $12 million in cash. The company says it now has an aviation portfolio of four “income-generating engines under long-term lease to major U.S. airlines,” and that it is in the process of finalizing the purchase of an additional engine that should close in the coming weeks.

TDA Announces New A320 Teardown

Touchdown Aviation (TDA) announced it recently acquired an Airbus A320-200 for teardown, previously operated by Air India Express. The aircraft was disassembled by ecube in Wales, and TDA says select inventory. Has been allocated to its warehouse network across Europe and North America, while “a significant portion” has been shipped directly to repair and overhaul facilities.

Porter Airlines Goes Live With Additional Flydocs Platform

Porter Airlines has implemented flydocs’ Lifecycle Asset Management platform, which combines technical records and lease condition documents with live operational data. The airline also uses flydocs’ Digital Records Management platform, and the software provider says integrating the two platforms will help Porter Airlines meet lease-return conditions while being supported by predictive analytics and scenario modeling.

AvAir Acquires Full Stop Technics

AvAir has acquired Full Stop Technics, an FAA and European Union Aviation Safety Agency-certified wheel and brake MRO provider based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. AvAir President Brandon Wesson says the acquisition fits the company’s long-term strategy—particularly after recently purchasing more than 1,600 wheels and brakes from Lufthansa Technik—so bringing this capability in-house will “create a faster, more integrated solution.”

TP Aerospace Inks Warsaw Cargo Deal

TP Aerospace has signed an agreement with startup cargo carrier Warsaw Cargo to support wheels and brakes on its Airbus A321 fleet. TP Aerospace says the “Land For Less” program agreement will ensure availability and reliability to support Warsaw Cargo’s operations.

Werner Aero Acquires A320 For Disassembly

Werner Aero has acquired an Airbus A320-200 from Aero Capital Solutions. The aircraft, which is currently at Teesside International Airport in the UK, will be disassembled for used serviceable material.

Air India Gets ETL Approval For Boeing Widebodies

Air India has received approval from the country’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation to begin using electronic technical logbooks (ETL) for its Boeing 787 fleet and to pursue parallel implementation on its 777 fleet. The airline did not disclose which specific ETL product it is using.

Setna iO Acquires 757 Airframe, RB211 Engines For Teardown

Setna iO has acquired a Boeing 757-300 equipped with two Rolls-Royce RB211-535 engines to expand its teardown pipeline. The airframe will be disassembled at ecube’s facility in St Athan, Wales, and Setna says the engines will be disassembled separately, with what it describes as valuable parts routed for repair.

Storm Aviation To Oversee AOG Services Across FL Technics Network

Storm Aviation will coordinate aircraft on ground (AOG) recovery services across the FL Technics Group. The move expands the reach of UK-based Storm’s established GO Team, which the company says will give operators a single point of contact for rapid response technical recovery. FL Technics’ network covers more than 100 line maintenance stations worldwide and seven base maintenance hangars, including in Lithuania, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Indonesia and the Dominican Republic, as well as stock of spare parts in Dubai, Singapore and Vilnius.

AJW Technique Names New CEO

AJW Technique, the Montreal-based MRO business of AJW Group, has appointed Louis Philippe Mallette as its new CEO. In the role, Mallette will lead the strategic and operational direction of AJW Technique.

AMES Joins SkillBridge Program

Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services (AMES) has joined the U.S. Department of Defense’s SkillBridge program, which provides a pathway for military service members to transition to civilian careers. Program participants at the company will be given hands-on experience in commercial aircraft maintenance alongside experienced professionals.

AMAC Aerospace Launches Training Academy

AMAC Aerospace has launched an aircraft maintenance training program called AMAC Academy to prepare students for their European Union Aviation Safety Agency Part 66 Basic License in either Category B1.1 (aircraft mechanical systems and turbine engines) or B2 (avionics) through hands-on experience at the company’s facilities. It will begin the first intake of students in January 2027.

FL Technics Indonesia Opens Aircraft Painting Facility

FL Technics Indonesia has opened a new aircraft painting facility at its location in Denpasar, Bali. The company has already repainted a Boeing 737-400F freighter for Skyway Airlines, and it says it has secured several more painting projects over the next couple of months.

Magnetic Engines Adds CFM56 Rotor-Balancing Capabilities

Magnetic Engines has introduced in-house rotor-balancing capabilities for the CFM International CFM56 engine. It says the investment includes vertical and horizontal balancing machines, covering blades, discs and spools across the CFM56 engine family. The company can now offer full overhaul and rebuilding of the low-pressure turbine major module and fan and booster shop module, as well as life-limited parts replacement on high-pressure compressor and high-pressure turbine rotors.

Sentry Aerospares Acquires AirStart

Rotable spares provider Sentry Aerospares has acquired AirStart, a Canadian stocking distributor of rotable aircraft components specializing in regional platforms across ATR, De Havilland Canada Q400, Embraer and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries CRJ aircraft. Sentry Aerospares says the acquisition broadens its inventory portfolio and expands its services into the Canadian market, with AirStart’s new facility at Toronto Pearson Airport complementing its global hubs in Dallas, the New York metro area and London.

Lapinskas Appointed Avia Solutions Group CEO

FL Technics CEO Zilvinas Lapinskas has been appointed CEO of Avia Solutions Group, effective July 7. He will continue his role at FL Technics until the end of July and retain his seat on Avia Solutions Group’s Board of Directors. FL Technics will name his successor at the end of July. Current Avia Solution Group CEO Jonas Janukenas will move into the company’s chief financial officer role.

SIAEC And Air India Sign MRO Collaboration Agreement

SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) and Air India have signed a memorandum of opportunity to explore MRO collaboration opportunities. SIAEC notes that this could include the potential formation of an MRO joint venture in India. The companies were already collaborating to develop a maintenance base in Bengaluru.

Copa Airlines Begins Starlink Installations

Copa Airlines has begun a phased installation of Starlink inflight internet service across its fleet. The first Starlink-equipped aircraft completed its inaugural flight on July 4, and the airline expects fleetwide rollout to be complete during the first quarter of 2027.

Duncan Aviation Opens Expanded Lincoln Engine Overhaul Shop

Duncan Aviation has opened its expanded turbine engine overhaul shop in Lincoln, Nebraska. The shop includes 12 dedicated maintenance bays, upgraded back shops, a new test cell, control room and parts inventory warehouse, and other amenities. Duncan Aviation says the new facility builds on its relationship with Pratt & Whitney as a Designated Overhaul Facility for PW300 and PW500 turbofan engines.

Executive Jet Support Continues Aircraft Acquisition Spree

Executive Jet Support (EJS) has acquired an Airbus A319 from FTAI Aviation. The aircraft will be inducted into ALL4JETS’ facility in Bydgoszcz, Poland, for dismantlement. EJS has acquired a slew of aircraft since the beginning of the year, including two Airbus A320 family aircraft, two A330s, two A340s, an ATR72-500, two Embraer 175s and an Embraer ERJ 145. ALL4JETS recently began disassembling one of EJS’s newly acquired A330s.

Rcapital Acquires Adams Aviation Supply Company

Private investment firm Rcapital has acquired Adams Aviation Supply Company Limited, a distributor of parts and accessories for the general and business aviation maintenance segments, in a corporate carve-out from Incora. Adams Aviation has Part 145 maintenance organization approval from the UK Civil Aviation Authority and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, and operates as a specialized repair center for aviation headsets, helmets, and emergency locator transmitters.

Lufthansa Technik Milan Tests Donecle Drones

Lufthansa Technik Milan reported on LinkedIn that it recently conducted automated drone testing at its hangar in partnership with Donecle. The company says it aims to “drastically streamline inspection times, enhance safety and maintain the highest precision standards for our operations.”

American Airlines Launches New MRO Workforce Partnership

American Airlines has announced a new partnership with Fort Worth, Texas-based Tarrant County College, through which top candidates from the school’s Aviation Maintenance Technology program will have priority access to interviews, mentorship and engagement opportunities with the airline’s maintenance professionals, as well as in-person exposure to its maintenance facilities. American says the partnership formalizes its existing relationship with the school, which has previously included providing career guidance and mentoring its student team in the Aerospace Maintenance Council Competition.
