Epcor Inks Air Canada APU Deal
AFI KLM E&M subsidiary Epcor has signed a new long-term agreement to support Honeywell GTCP131-9A auxiliary power units on Air Canada’s Airbus 320 family fleet. Epcor says this is its second long-term agreement with the airline.
Delta Plans 737 Finlet Modifications
Delta Air Lines announced that it will install a finlet modification package created by Vortex Control Technologies across its Boeing 737-800 and 737-900ER fleets. The finlets, which are designed to reduce drag and improve fuel efficiency, will be installed on 240 aircraft

Aptus Aero Acquires EMC Aerospace
Aptus Aero, a portfolio company of The Stephens Group created to acquire, invest in and grow component repair organizations, has acquired EMC. Aerospace. Based in North Miami Beach, Florida, EMC specializes in MRO of power generation, pneumatic, hydraulic, fuel and other aircraft components.
Setna Acquires Ex-EasyJet A319 Airframe
Setna iO has acquired an Airbus A319-100 airframe previously operated by easyJet. The airframe is one of three ex-easyJet A319-100s Setna iO acquired in the transaction. It will be disassembled at ecube’s facility in St. Athan, Wales and Setna will route the components through its repair network for piece-part repair and recertification.

FL Technics Punta Cana Gets FAA Part 145 Approval
FL Technics has obtained an FAA Part 145 Repair Station Certificate for its new MRO facility in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The facility also recently received approval from the country’s Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil.
Alaska Airlines Begins Construction On New PDX Hangar
Alaska Airlines has broken ground on a new maintenance hangar at Portland International Airport. The 125,000 ft.² hangar, which will be constructed next to the Horizon Air Ops Center and Maintenance Center, also includes office space, support areas, and engine, machine and sheet metal shops.

Lufthansa Technik Plans Second Philippines Base Maintenance Facility
Lufthansa Technik has announced plans to build a second base maintenance facility in the Philippines. The facility at Clark International Airport is expected to provide capacity for up to nine widebody aircraft bays and begin operations in 2028. The facility will complement Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ other location at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila.
FL Technics Gets IDAC Certification For Punta Cana Facility
FL Technics has obtained certification from the Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil (IDAC) for its new maintenance hub in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. FL Technics says the certification clears the way for it to launch services and deliver certified maintenance to local airlines and operators. The company is now moving ahead with client onboarding and plans to expand maintenance capabilities.

AJW Group Gets South African Maintenance Approval
AJW Group has obtained Approved Maintenance Organization approval from the South African Civil Aviation Authority. The approval covers the agency’s B and X category ratings, encompassing airframe, engine, avionics and electrical components.

Air India Selects LHT For APU MRO
Air India has signed a multiyear contract with Lufthansa Technik (LHT) covering auxiliary power unit (APU) MRO on the carrier’s Airbus A350 fleet. LHT will provide services for 40 Honeywell HGT1700 APUs from its specialized workshops in Hamburg.
Collins Aerospace Quadruples Malaysia MRO Footprint
Collins Aerospace is investing $63 million to quadruple its MRO footprint at Subang Aerotech Park in Malaysia. In addition to expanding the space to 164,000 ft.², Collins will introduce advanced MRO capabilities for components such as air cycle machines, heat exchangers, valves and new-generation starters. Collins expects to transition to the new facility by the end of this year.

AvAir Opens Dallas Warehouse
AvAir has opened a new 450,000 ft.² warehouse near Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. COO Tyler Botthof says the central U.S. location complements AvAir’s facilities in Dublin and Chandler, Arizona, streamlines its distribution and enhances its inventory availability.
Bain Capital Takes Majority Stake In FDH Aero
Bain Capital Private Equity has taken a majority stake in aerospace and defense industry supply chain specialist FDH Aero. The companies say the move will support FDH’s next phase of growth and build on its expansion since Audax Private Equity became the company’s majority shareholder in 2017. Audax is expected to remain a significant investor in the company.

WAI Opens 2027 Scholarship Program
Women in Aviation International (WAI) has opened its 2027 scholarship program, which offers more than 50 scholarships valued at over $200,000 for engineering, maintenance, flight training, and other aviation-industry career advancement programs for individuals at all stages of life. Applications are due by Sept. 1, and applicants must be a WAI member as of Aug. 30 to qualify for a scholarship.
Executive Jet Support Expands E175 Inventory
Executive Jet Support has completed the acquisition of a second Embraer E175 to expand its E-Jet used serviceable material. The company signed an agreement to acquire its first E175 in April.

Air Transport Components Acquires Aero Controls
Air Transport Components has acquired Aero Controls, a Seattle-headquartered provider of aircraft component repair and overhaul, parts sales, consignment management and engineered solutions. Air Transport Components says the acquisition strengthens its in-house engineering and proprietary repair capabilities and enhances its specialized component repair services. Aero Controls’ existing team and leadership will remain in place, and the company will operate as a business unit of Air Transport Components Group.
TAT Technologies Lands $45 Million In New MRO Contracts
TAT Technologies has announced $45 million worth of new long-term MRO agreements with commercial and cargo airline customers. The agreements include support across auxiliary power unit platforms and heat exchangers. TAT Technologies did not disclose details about specific contract values or customers, but noted the contract terms range from 5-10 years.

Condor Building A330neo Temporary Hangar At Frankfurt
Condor Technik has begun construction of a new temporary hangar at Frankfurt Airport that will be used to establish the company’s first dedicated maintenance capabilities for the Airbus A330neo fleet there. Set for completion in early 2027, the hangar will have space to accommodate an A330 or two Airbus A32X family aircraft simultaneously.

StandardAero CEO Succession
StandardAero CEO Russell Ford has announced plans to retire at the end of this year. He will be succeeded by Paul McElhinney, StandardAero’s lead independent director, who will become CEO Oct. 1. McElhinney has more than three decades of aerospace and industrial leadership, serving on StandardAero’s board since 2019 and holding leadership roles at AE Industrial Partners, GE Power Services and GE Aerospace.
Iberia Seeks EASA Part 66 Certifying Staff
Iberia has launched an initiative to recruit European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part 66 B1 and B2 licensed certifying staff to its line maintenance teams as part of its Flight Plan 2030. It is particularly seeking professionals with type ratings on Airbus A320ceo/neo, A321XLR, A330 and A350 fleets.

GA Telesis has signed an agreement with China Aviation Supplies Co. (CASC) to cooperate across several areas of aftermarket support. This includes aviation materials support, major component leasing and distribution, MRO services, and overseas asset management and support.
3TOP Aviation Services Acquires Two Embraer E190s
3TOP Aviation Services, a UK-based provider of aftermarket support and asset management, has acquired two Embraer E190-100 regional aircraft. The regional jets were previously operated by defunct Italian flag carrier Alitalia.
