HAECO, CALC Sign Engine Support MOU

HAECO and China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly explore the development of an engine quick-turn platform in Hong Kong. The companies say the initial focus will be on quick-turn services, hospital repair and engine asset management, and the partnership will also look at optimizing used serviceable materials.

B&H Worldwide Moves To New Auckland Facility

Aerospace and aviation logistics specialist B&H Worldwide has relocated to a new facility near Auckland Airport. The facility includes dedicated secure storage areas for high-value aircraft components and engines and specialized shelving systems to store smaller aircraft parts. B&H says the new location will enable faster cargo processing and more responsive customer support.

LATAM Speeds Up MRO Material Transport Via Drones

LATAM Airlines reports that it has implemented a project to transport material between its warehouse and maintenance workshops in São Carlos, Brazil, using drones. It says the project has so far reduced transport time for small materials such as screws, seals, gaskets and connectors to 30 sec. from 15 min.

Calhoun Community College Launches AMT Program

Calhoun Community College in Decatur, Alabama, has launched a new FAA-certified Aviation Maintenance Technology program. The school cut the ribbon on its hangar facility for the program at Pryor Field Regional Airport on Aug. 18. The two-year program will offer associate of applied science degrees in airframe and powerplant.

AAR Opens Miami Hangar Expansion

AAR has cut the ribbon on the expansion of its Miami airframe MRO facility, adding more than 100,000 ft.² of space with a new hangar that will support three heavy maintenance lines. AAR expects to induct the first aircraft for the hangar this fall.

Brussels Airport Building New Engine Testing Facility

Brussels Airport is building a new ground run-up enclosure to test aircraft engines at full power after maintenance. The airport says noise barriers will protect the surrounding area from excessive noise, and the enclosure can accommodate larger aircraft such as the Airbus A350 or Boeing 787. The airport expects to complete construction by the end of March 2027.

Stratton Aviation announced that it has expanded its capabilities to include top and bottom case repairs on CFM International CFM56-5 and -7 engines.

STS Aviation Gets C6 Equipment Rating From UAE For Dubai Facility

The General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has given STS Aviation Services a CAR 145 C6 equipment rating at its Dubai CommerCity facility. The approval authorizes the company to perform approved component maintenance activities within the C6 Equipment category, which includes non-engine aircraft equipment and cabin components.

Aviation parts distributor Topcast has signed an exclusive agreement with AmSafe covering distribution and repair support for its aviation restraints across Greater China. Earlier this month, Topcast signed an exclusive agreement with BASF for distribution and repair of its ozone converters in China and the Asia-Pacific region.

Precision Air Selects StandardAero For Turboprop Engine MRO

Tanzanian airline Precision Air has selected StandardAero to provide MRO services for the Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127M engines powering its fleet of ATR 42 and 72 aircraft. StandardAero will provide services from its overhaul facilities in Summerside, Canada, and Gonesse, France, as well as support from its service center in Nairobi, Kenya.

Kenya Airways reported on social media that its Engineering and Maintenance division has completed its first Boeing 787 landing gear replacement and D check. The airline is working to build its in-house MRO capabilities, including C check capability on 767 and 777 aircraft.

Ethiopian Expands Boeing Landing Gear Exchange Program Participation

Ethiopian Airlines has expanded its participation in Boeing’s 787 Landing Gear Exchange program to include landing gear shipsets for 10 787-9 aircraft in its fleet. The airline had previously enrolled 19 787-8s in the program, which is aimed at simplifying scheduling and management of landing gear overhaul and replacement during maintenance operations.

2Excel has announced an agreement with easyJet to support the low-cost carrier’s AOG operations. The UK-based aviation services provider will provide support using a Beechcraft King Air 200 aircraft to transport critical components and engineering staff. 2Excel says it has previously supported easyJet from Milan Malpensa Airport.

Setna iO Acquires A320neo Airframe, PW1100 Components

Setna iO has acquired an Airbus A320neo airframe with two sets of Pratt & Whitney PW1100 quick engine change components. The airframe is set to be dismantled at ecube’s facility in Castellon, Spain, and the recovered components will be processed through Setna iO’s network to provide used serviceable material and components to customers.

2Excel To Support EasyJet AOG Operations

UK-based 2Excel has signed a new agreement with low-cost airline EasyJet to provide aircraft support for its aircraft on ground (AOG) operations. The service will be delivered by 2Excel using a Beechcraft King Air 200 aircraft, positioned on standby 365 days a year to support easyJet’s AOG team. This capability will enable the rapid deployment of critical components and engineering personnel to help ensure the carrier experiences minimal disruption to its flight operations.

EirTrade Gains Three New Global Authorizations

EirTrade has secured three operational authorizations as it continues to expand its MRO operation at Ireland West Airport Knock. The company has been granted approvals from the Bailiwick of Guernsey, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands and the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority, covering aircraft operations, transitions, parking and storage. These approvals enable the maintenance provider to support aircraft registered with the three overseas aviation authorities. The three authorizations follow EirTrade’s expansion of its EASA Part-145 capabilities in 2025 to include the Airbus A320neo powered by PW1100 engines and the Airbus A330. The company said the move responds to demand from airlines and lessors using the Guernsey, Cayman Islands and Bermuda aircraft registers.

Avocet Gets FAA Approval For CRJ Maintenance

Avocet Aviation Services, a Part 145 repair station with locations at Orlando-Sanford International Airport and Lakeland Linder International Airport, has received FAA approval to perform maintenance on CRJ Series aircraft. CEO Paul Fanelli says the approval gives the company the ability to perform the full scope of heavy maintenance, C checks, D checks and specialized inspections across the entire CRJ product line.

Bird Aviation signed a long-term base maintenance deal with easyJet covering the airline’s Airbus A320 family aircraft. Bird Aviation will provide two maintenance lines over an initial seven-year period from its facilities in Larnaca, Cyprus, with the option to extend the deal for an additional three years.

FAA Approves New Jet Parts Engineering PMA, DER Additions

Jet Parts Engineering has obtained FAA approval for nine new parts manufacturer approval (PMA) parts and three new designated engineering representative (DER) repairs. Texel Air Gains San Marino Line Maintenance Approval

Texel Air has added a new San Marino Civil Aviation Authority (SMCAA) line maintenance approval to support Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 family operators from its Bahrain facilities. The approval was granted within the scope of the airline's existing EASA Part-145 approval.
