Lithuania-based MRO provider FL Technics has been granted EASA Part 145 approval for the heavy maintenance of Embraer 170/190 small narrowbodies and is aiming to extend its coverage to the Brazilian airframer’s E2 range.
FL Technics, part of the fast-growing Avia Solutions Group, says it is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for Embraer maintenance services, as many of its clients, including Tier 1 operators, utilise this type of aircraft.
The organization, which currently provides heavy maintenance services for Airbus and Boeing narrowbodies, recognizes that Embraer is forecasting significant growth over the next decade. This projection, it says, highlights the growing importance of smaller narrowbodies in supporting short-haul routes across Europe, meeting demand in regional and high-frequency markets.
“FL Technics invests in the future and continuity,” FL Technics’ CEO, Zilvinas Lapinskas said. “As an MRO services leader, recognised as a top heavy maintenance provider for narrowbodies, we are dedicated to transferring our extensive know-how to new capabilities and positioning ourselves to meet our clients’ needs by servicing all types of aircraft. Our next step is to obtain approval for the maintenance of the E2 series of Embraer.”
“Embraer is perfectly suited for short hauls in the European region, which many European operators, such as TAP Air Portugal, LOT Polish Airlines, Finnair, Air Dolomiti, Helvetic, KLM, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, SAS Link, and others, focus on,” FL Technics’ deputy CEO for base maintenance, Juozas Lapeika added.
FL Technics specializes in base and line maintenance, spare parts and component support, engine repair, full aircraft engineering, technical training, and aerospace logistics.
The company has hangars in Lithuania (Vilnius and Kaunas), the UK (Glasgow Prestwick), Indonesia (Jakarta and Bali), and will soon be operating in the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana).
