Gallery: Asia-Pacific MROs Race To Build Capacity Ahead Of Fleet Surge By 2035
Lee Ann Shay August 27, 2026The in-service fleet of commercial aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region as well as China and India is expected to grow to about 15,900 aircraft, an increase of nearly 50%, over the next decade, according to Aviation Week’s 2026 Fleet & MRO Forecast. Narrowbodies continue to dominate orders: Single-aisle aircraft are projected to constitute more than 70% of the region’s fleet by 2035.
To accommodate that growth amid a shortage of widebody base maintenance capacity around the world, MRO providers and airlines in the region are expanding their aftermarket footprint.
