Embraer Grows Services & Support Backlog

Embraer Services & Support has reported that its backlog was up 7% year-on-year to $4.9 billion in the fourth quarter of 2025, driven by several contracts with carriers such as Republic Airways and Airlink. It noted that its new MRO facility at Perot Field Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas, which is currently under construction, should open in 2027.

Liebherr-Aerospace Industrializes New Coating Process At Singapore MRO Site

Liebherr-Aerospace announced that it has industrialized an advanced Trivalent Chromium System/Post Application Conversion Sealer protection coating process on heat transfer equipment components on board various aircraft platforms at its MRO site in Singapore. It says the REACH (European Union Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) compliant process enhances corrosion resistance and paint adhesion by sealing and reinforcing the components’ protective layer. It plans to achieve REACH-compliant processes at other service centers soon, including its facility in Shanghai.

LATAM Launches Chile MRO Training Partnership

LATAM Airlines has signed an agreement with INACAP Technological University in Chile to provide specialized aviation maintenance technician training to graduates from the school’s industrial maintenance and mechatronics programs. Under the six-month program, the students will begin practical training at LATAM’s MRO workshops in Pudahuel, Chile, in March.

AerSale Opens Expanded South Florida MRO Facility

AerSale has opened a new, expanded aerostructures MRO facility in Hialeah Gardens, Florida, that will replace its previous location in Medley, Florida. The 90,000 ft.² facility is approximately three times larger than the former Medley facility and gives AerSale expanded capabilities for larger widebody parts, such as Airbus A330 and Boeing 777 airframe components and General Electric GE90 and Rolls-Royce Trent engine nacelles and thrust reversers.

Newbow Aerospace Expands Facilities, Airline Contracts

Newbow Aerospace has opened a new production facility near its headquarters and production facility in the West Midlands, UK, which it says has doubled its manufacturing capacity for ground support equipment (GSE). Additionally, it has won a major GSE contract with Iberia for the initial production of 16 wheel and brake trailers that will be deployed across airports in Spain to support the airline’s fleet of Airbus A350-900s. Newbow Aerospace has also been selected by British Airways to deliver trailers to support its Airbus A320 and Boeing 777 line maintenance operations at London Gatwick.

Barnes Aerospace Appoints New CEO

Barnes Aerospace has appointed Michael Mosley as CEO. Mosley was most recently chief operating officer and president of castings and metals at Precision Castparts Corporation. He previously spent much of his career at Rolls-Royce, where he held senior leadership roles across its operations, manufacturing, supply chain and global aerospace programs. Mosley has served on the Barnes Aerospace board of directors since May 2025. Interim CEO Thomas Mepham, who is also a member of the board of directors, will assume the role of executive chair of the board.

LOT Expands ST Engineering Nacelle Support

LOT Polish Airlines has expanded its partnership with ST Engineering through a five-year nacelle MRO agreement that supports its Boeing 787 fleet. ST Engineering says the deal also introduces a structured refurbishment program that embeds predictive maintenance methodologies into nacelle lifecycle management.

QT Aerospace Gets UK CAA Approval

Dallas-based airframe composite repair provider QT Aerospace has received UK Civil Aviation Authority Part 145 approval, authorizing it to perform MRO services for UK-registered aircraft. The company says the approval will help it better serve its international customers.

GetJet Aviation Holdings Plans Rebrand, Expansion

GetJet Aviation Holdings has rebranded as GetJet Group, which it says aims to build a more efficient, integrated structure to accommodate its expanding global operations. The growth will include plans to expand MRO capacity and flight operations, as well as create 200 new positions across its holding companies, which include GetJet Airlines and GetJet Airlines Malta, MRO and asset management provider Airhub Aviation, and Airhub Training.

GracoRoberts Acquires Sky Mart

Aerospace industry chemicals distributor GracoRoberts has acquired Sky Mart, an aerospace chemical, lubricant and specialty fluids stocking distributor based in Miami. GracoRoberts says the acquisition will expand its reach into the Latin American MRO market, scale its aircraft-on-ground capability and expand its portfolio, including the addition of Sky Mart’s fulfillment centers in Miami, San Antonio and Indianapolis.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways Gets Maintenance Approval

New Vietnamese leisure carrier Sun PhuQuoc Airways has been granted approved maintenance organization certification from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam. It says in-house maintenance capability will help it take control of technical operations for its growing fleet as it expands its network. It now has nine aircraft, including Airbus A321ceos and five newly manufactured Airbus A321neos, and it plans to operate its first international route between Phu Quoc, Vietnam, and Taipei starting March 29.

IATA Renews CFM Engine MRO Competition Agreement

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has renewed an agreement with CFM International through 2033 that focuses on supporting increased competition in the MRO market for CFM-manufactured engines. A recent IATA study estimated that limited competition increased engine leasing and maintenance costs for airlines by $5.7 billion in 2025. The agreement includes conduct policies that CFM has adopted to enhance opportunities for third-party providers of engine parts and MRO services, such as allowing independent MROs to compete for engine work and to use its technical manuals and repair instructions.

HAECO Confirms New GM Of Composite Business

HAECO has announced the appointment of Haijun Jiang as general manager of HAECO Composite Services, effective immediately. In the new role, Jiang will lead HAECO Composite Services by overseeing the company’s strategic development and business growth. He will be responsible for driving its operational performance and profitability, while upholding safety, quality and regulatory compliance standards.

Airbourne Colours Wins Austrian A320 Painting Deal

Airbourne Colours has announced a new partnership with Austrian Airlines to provide repainting services for 10 of the carrier’s Airbus A320 aircraft from its Midlands Airport facility. The program is already underway, which Airbourne Colours says is “ensuring a full and busy opening quarter” for the company.

Air Atlanta Icelandic Expands Trax Deal

Air Atlanta Icelandic has signed a multi-year contract expansion with Trax under which it will add the software provider’s eMobility and cloud hosting products for streamlining maintenance. The airline’s director of IT, Gnupur Halldorsson, says the software helps its maintenance and operations teams work more efficiently and access data in real time wherever it is needed.

Korean Air Signs Dviation Technics MOU

Korean Air has signed a memorandum of understanding with Dviation Technics, a subsidiary of Malaysia’s Dviation Group, to pursue joint initiatives focused on line maintenance services. In addition to covering maintenance support as Korean Air launches new routes and operates new aircraft types, the agreement creates pathways for more cooperation in areas such as base and engine maintenance, aircraft painting, cabin refurbishments and end-of-lease management.

Allflight Expands Kent Facility

Part 145 repair station Allflight Corp. is expanding its facility in Kent, Washington, by adding 50% more warehouse and operational space. It says the expansion will increase capacity and enable it to stage more inventory, speed up service and streamline logistics.

SunExpress Taps LHT For CFM Maintenance

SunExpress Airlines has signed a five-year engine MRO agreement with Lufthansa Technik (LHT) covering CFM International CFM56-7B engines powering its Boeing 737-800s and CFM Leap-1B engines on its growing fleet of 737-8s. LHT will provide services from its facilities in Hamburg, including repairs, overhauls and performance restoration shop visits, although the company says it can also provide extra capacity from its XEOS joint venture in Poland.

Heston MRO Opens Auckland Line Station

Heston MRO has established a new line station at Auckland Airport in New Zealand through a partnership with Fieldair. The station is Heston’s first permanent footprint in New Zealand, and it will offer a range of capabilities for narrowbodies and widebodies, including Part 145 engineering, Part 147 technical training and nondestructive testing.

Burrana Adds Chinese IFE Repair Center

Aircraft cabin technology provider Burrana has approved Chengdu Huatai Aviation Technology Co. (CHAT) as an authorized repair center for its components in the Chinese market. CHAT will support Burrana’s PAVES and PAVES On Demand inflight entertainment product lines from its facility at the Chengdu Western High-tech Zone.

Iberia Maintenance Launches Vocational Training Program

Iberia Maintenance has launched a specialization program for gas turbine engine maintenance aimed at individuals with prior vocational training in related fields such as aeronautical structures assembly and vehicle electromechanics. The 500-hr. training will take place in Madrid starting in February.

AJW Secures Air Astana Component Deal

AJW Group has been awarded a new long-term power-by-the-hour component support contract with Air Astana and FlyArystan covering its expanding Airbus A320-family fleet, including A320s, A321neos, A321NXs and A321NXLRs. AJW says the contract will be underpinned by its MRO component subsidiary AJW Technique in Montreal and its new warehouse in Amsterdam.

Blackstone Retains Jump Seat

Blackstone Credit & Insurance retained Jump Seat Advisor to advise with Blackstone’s strategic engine lease partnership with Willis Leasing Finance Corp. (WLFC). Blackstone and WLFC announced on Jan. 5 that they plan to deploy more than $1 billion in next-gen aircraft engines and select aircraft over the next two years.

E190s For Dismantle and Spares

TrueNoord sold two Embraer E190 aircraft to Airlink, the South African regional airline, which plans to dismantle the aircraft to increase its inventory of E190 parts and use the engines as spares.

GA Telesis Expands Footprint, Inventory

GA Telesis announced that it has expanded its used serviceable material inventory with the disassembly of two Airbus A319 aircraft. The company has also expanded into Africa by appointing Elias Dimitiri as vice president of its Flight Solutions Group for Sub-Saharan Africa. GA Telesis says the appointment is the initial phase of its broader plan to establish full operating and distribution capabilities across Africa.

EasyJet’s Final A320ceo Sharklet Push

EasyJet says the last seven of its Airbus A320ceos that are due to be retrofitted with Airbus-manufactured sharklets will be upgraded by this summer. It expects the upgrade to save an additional 2,156 tons of fuel per year across its fleet and nearly 7,000 tons of carbon dioxide.

3TOP Acquires E175s For Teardown

3TOP Aviation Services has acquired two Embraer 175 aircraft previously operated by Italian carrier Alitalia. The aircraft will be torn down and the resulting inventory will be harvested at Atitech’s facility in Rome.

Corax Boosts ATR72 Inventory

Corax has acquired an ATR72 aircraft for teardown that will be used to expand its inventory of used serviceable material. The company says the teardown will yield a wide range of components that include landing gear, flight controls, engines and rotables, which will be available from is headquarters in Copenhagen.

APOC Acquires CF34 For Teardown

APOC Aviation has acquired a General Electric CF34-10E engine formerly operated by Kenya Airways for teardown. It will be dismantled in Europe and its used serviceable material will be available for sale or exchange from APOC’s warehouse near Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

AeroThrust Becomes Ignite Aero Engines

AeroThrust, a subsidiary of The Xtreme Group and a specialist in CFM56 engine MRO, has rebranded as Ignite Aero Engines. As part of the company’s strategic transformation, Ignite Aero Engines has appointed Juan Pantoja as president.

VSE Completes Aero 3 Acquisition

VSE Corporation has closed its acquisition of GenNx/AeroRepair IntermediateCo Inc., the parent company of Aero 3, an MRO services provider and distributor that supports the commercial wheel and brake aftermarket. VSE acquired Aero 3 for $35 million in cash, subject to working capital adjustments.

Thai Airways Opts For AAR Software Products

Thai Airways has selected software from AAR subsidiaries Trax and Aerostrat for digital MRO, including Trax’s eMRO enterprise resource planning system, suite of eMobility apps and cloud hosting service, as well as Aerostrat’s Aerros maintenance planning software. The airline also plans to deploy proprietary artificial intelligence-powered solutions from Trax and Aerostrat for advanced planning, workflow automation and defect resolution assistance.

Setna iO’s Latest Shopping Spree

Setna iO announced several airframe, engine and auxiliary power unit (APU) acquisitions in the last week that will be torn down to support customers. These include a Boeing 757-300 previously operated by Condor, including two Rolls-Royce RB211-535 engines; an Airbus A320-200 previously operated by Iberia, including two CFM International CFM56-5B engines; a 737-800, including an extra Honeywell GTCP131-9B APU; and two CFM56-7B26 engines outfitted with tech insertion hardware.

AAR Starts Triumph Actuation Distribution Services

AAR Corp. announced that it has begun performing services for its exclusive commercial distribution agreement with Triumph, which was originally announced in April 2024. AAR is now the exclusive distributor of Triumph’s commercial actuation product line.

SkyWest Plans Salina Maintenance Base

SkyWest Airlines plans to establish an aircraft maintenance facility at Salina Regional Airport in Kansas that will support its fleet of more than 500 regional jets, including those currently operating United Express flights in and out of Salina. The new maintenance base is expected to be operational by early spring 2026.

Turkish Technic Agrees New Terms With Pakistan-Based AirSial

Turkish Technic has expanded its Airbus A320ceo component pool agreement with Pakistan-based airline AirSial. Both parties have worked together since 2020 and the new agreement extends their cooperation for an additional five years while broadening the scope of services provided. Under the terms of the contract, AirSial will have access to component support and pooling solutions for its entire fleet by leveraging Turkish Technic's inventory of components and spare parts, dedicated workshops, and warehouses.
