SINGAPORE—ST Engineering has secured its first heavy maintenance contract for the Airbus A220, covering an unspecified Asia-Pacific airline and expanding its Airbus narrowbody maintenance portfolio.
Aviation Week has contacted ST Engineering for details on which facility will perform the work.
According to Aviation Week Fleet Discovery data, 21 A220 family aircraft are currently in service across Asia-Pacific, with another 179 on order. The largest operator is National Jet Systems, a Qantas subsidiary, with 15 aircraft, followed by Air Niugini and Korean Air, with three aircraft each.
ST Engineering announced the contract alongside its third-quarter results, with its commercial aerospace portfolio reporting SG$1.4 billion ($1.1 billion) in new orders across its MRO, aerostructures and systems businesses.
During the same period, the company also signed an exclusive two-year agreement with China’s Hebei Airlines to provide CFM International CFM56-7B engine performance restoration shop visit services.
