SINGAPORE—RTX company Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has signed a 15-year maintenance agreement with Singapore Airlines low-cost subsidiary Scoot, for support of 24 APS5000 auxiliary power units fitted to the carrier’s Boeing 787s.

The new contract builds on an earlier long-term comprehensive APU maintenance support deal announced with Scoot in 2014, which included repair services and spares asset management. The initial agreement also focused on system health monitoring and aircraft operational and dispatch reliability.

P&WC has now built more than 1,400 APS5000 APUs, which have amassed close to 16 million hr. of operational time on the 787 family. The APS5000 generates 450kVA of electrical power at sea level and starts and operates up to 43,100 ft.
