SINGAPORE—Hong Kong-based maintenance provider HAECO has launched a modular replacement service for Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines at its London Heathrow facility.
Developed in collaboration with Rolls-Royce, the new capability will be offered through HAECO’s global engine support business. The London operation is one of four engine support facilities in HAECO’s network, alongside locations in Amsterdam, Dallas and Hong Kong.
HAECO said its London facility is now one of only four sites worldwide authorized to perform modular replacements on the Trent 1000, one of the two engine options for the Boeing 787.
The new service covers replacements of the engine’s Module 32 intermediate-pressure compressor and Module 41 high-pressure compressor.
Work will be carried out using a horizontal strip method, in which the engine remains horizontal while it is disassembled into its primary modules. HAECO said the process is designed to shorten turnaround times, extend engine time on wing and help optimize capacity across Rolls-Royce’s global aftermarket network.
“Introducing this capability at our London site represents a major milestone in our partnership with Rolls-Royce and our commitment to supporting Trent 1000 fleet availability,” said George Edmunds, HAECO's group director of component and engine services.
“We are delivering a certified, efficient and safety-first solution that enables airlines to restore fleet health faster and return aircraft to service with confidence,” Edmunds said.
The additional capability comes as operators continue to face pressure on engine maintenance capacity and aircraft availability. According to Aviation Week’s Fleet & MRO Forecast data, the Trent 1000 is projected to generate $43.1 billion in MRO spending from 2026 through 2035.

HAECO provides on-wing and near-wing services for several engine families. Its capabilities cover the Rolls-Royce RB211-524 and -535, Trent 500, 700, 800, 900, 1000, 7000 and XWB, as well as the CFM International Leap-1A.
