Emirates and Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Company Limited (GAMECO) have signed new multi-year agreements extending heavy-maintenance support for Emirates’ Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 fleets.
GAMECO began providing nose-to-tail heavy maintenance for Emirates’ A380s at its Guangzhou facility in September 2023, with support expanding to the 777 fleet in April 2025. Under the latest agreement, the 777 heavy-maintenance contract has been extended through 2029 under a new three-year deal.
GAMECO told Aviation Week it has completed heavy checks on nine Emirates 777s across its four parallel maintenance lines. The company added that its average turnaround time for 777 C-checks is about 25 days.
Emirates operates the world’s largest fleets of the A380 and 777.
According to the Aviation Week Network Fleet Discovery database, the carrier has 96 A380s and 135 777-family aircraft in service.
