Emirates' premium economy cabin.
Emirates Airline will add premium economy service on 10 routes by July 1, bringing to 84 the number of routes on which at least one frequency is operated with an aircraft fitted with the carrier’s premium economy product.
The service additions will be for flights aboard a combination of Boeing 777s retrofitted with premium economy seating and new Airbus A350s delivered with the dedicated cabin. Placing an aircraft with a premium economy cabin on already-served routes will see the carrier offer an additional daily frequency from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Cape Town, Copenhagen and Phuket. On the other seven routes, an aircraft with premium economy seating will be swapped in on existing frequencies.
Emirates’ premium economy product—first introduced in 2022—includes a dedicated check-in counter at DXB, 19.5-in. seats with up to 40 in. of legroom, in-seat charging, a 13.3-in. inflight entertainment screen, amenity kits and a premium meal service. The carrier has also retrofitted A380s with a premium economy cabin.
From June 1, Emirates will add a second daily frequency between DXB and Copenhagen. From July 1, the carrier will add a third daily flight between DXB and Phuket and a third daily frequency between DXB and Cape Town. All three added frequencies will be operated with A350s featuring 21 premium economy seats in between a business-class cabin with 32 seats and an economy section with 259 seats. The aircraft total 312 seats.
Premium economy seating will be offered onboard an A350 starting March 29 on Emirates’ already-operated daily service between DXB and Rome.
The carrier will utilize a retrofitted 777 to offer premium economy service on the carrier’s fifth-freedom Barcelona-Mexico City route from Feb 1. Premium economy service onboard a retrofitted 777 will be offered between DXB and Karachi, Pakistan, beginning March 1.
Emirates will offer premium economy on its daily service between DXB and Taipei using a retrofitted 777 from March 15 to April 30, switching to an A350 starting May 1. The carrier’s daily flights between DXB and Addis Ababa will be operated with a retrofitted 777 from March 1.
