Aftermarket parts and services specialist Satair has opened a new parts services and logistics facility in Hamburg.

The company, which operates as part of the Airbus Services division as a wholly owned subsidiary, says the new 610,000 ft.2 warehouse is the largest in its network. Located in the Wilhelmsburg area of the city, it will primarily cater to tools and large parts, which will either be in long-term storage or distributed in kits.

Satair now operates two warehouses in Hamburg. Its other operation, in Hamburg’s Fuhlsbuttel region, oversees the management of small- and medium-sized parts.

Satair says it envisages the two facilities complementing one another by operating “under an integrated warehouse solution, creating a comprehensive logistics network across both locations.”

“This expansion significantly enhances our ability to serve customers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, in particular, while also reinforcing our global service reach,” says Thomas Moik, Satair's chief operating officer.

In the near future, Satair plans to further ramp up the capabilities of its new warehouse.  The company plans to add in-house carpentry for customized shipping services and to introduce tool repair services as part of its strategy to incorporate end-to-end customer services.

The new warehouse is the latest move in Satair's expansion over the past few years. In 2022, it acquired U.S.-based end-of-life material specialist VAS Aero Services. At the time, Satair said the move would help grow its materials output due to VAS's knowledge of managing engine and multi-fleet used serviceable material products.
