S7 Technics Producing Braille Stickers for Aircraft Interiors
S7 Technics has begun producing tactile Braille stickers for interiors of Russian aircraft to assist passengers with visual impairments in navigating the cabin. The MRO is purchasing equipment for production at its Novosibirsk base. Stickers are printed on a special film using a piezoelectric spray method and S7 Technics says there are an average about 160 stickers per aircraft.

Embraer Develops Cargo Solutions
Embraer has developed a portfolio of solutions to carry cargo in the cabins of EMB 120, ERJ 145 and E-Jet aircraft. In addition to placing small packages in overhead bins and stowage compartments, cargo items can be placed on each seat. Customers may also choose a floor-mounted freight configuration which entails removal of up to 70% of passenger seats.

Paul Oliver Now Leads CAS
Certified Aviation Services appointed Paul Oliver, most recently Airbus Americas’ VP of customer support, as its new president and CEO. He started the position on July 27 after 18 years with Airbus. Oliver, now based at CAS’s Ontario, California, headquarters, will focus on the MRO’s operation and performance, including implementing a global strategy. Dominik Wacht takes over Oliver’s customer service position at the OEM.

AAR Awarded Netherlands Air Force Contract
AAR has been awarded a three year contract by the Royal Netherlands Air Force to perform MRO on F-16 jet fuel starters. AAR will provide the service from its component repair facility in Amsterdam.

Aero-Dienst Adds Liferaft MRO Capabilities
Business aviation and air ambulance MRO provider Aero-Dienst has received certification from the German Federal Aviation Authority as an authorized service station for the Winslow LifeRaft Company, a division of Collins Aerospace. Aero-Dienst has the annual capacity of approximately 500 liferaft overhauls and offers customers AOG service with 24-hour turnaround time.

Additive Flight Solutions Achieves Quality Management Certification
Stratasys and SIAEC joint venture Additive Flight Solutions (AFS) has received AS9100D quality management certification. AFS supplies 3D printed parts for aircraft cabins and it says the certification will provide a competitive advantage in driving the development of its additive aerospace applications.

Vallair Teams with CHAMP on Digital Cargo System
Vallair has signed a memorandum of understanding with CHAMP Cargosystems to develop the first cargo management system and e-freight integrated solution for its prototype Airbus A321 freighter conversion. The collaboration will use CHAMP’s Weight and Balance system and data to for digitalized tracking of all cargo.

Heatcon Licenses Composite Repair Tech
Heatcon has entered an agreement with Cornerstone Research Group to license its DIRT Bag product for manufacture and distribution. The DIRT Bag provides contamination and environmental control during composite repairs and can be used with HEPA vacuum systems.

CFM Adapts MAX Grounding Support for Entire Engine Fleet
CFM says processes developed to support the LEAP-1B fleet during Boeing 737 MAX groundings have been leveraged more broadly to its entire engine fleet to address COVID-related groundings. It has worked closely with customers on engine preservation, completing time-sensitive tasks, pulling forward planned maintenance and leveraging data analytics.

GA Telesis Expands Air Astana Contract
GA Telesis has expanded its Airbus A320neo and A321neo Flight Hour support contract with Air Astana, which includes warranty administration, repair management, AOG support, a large main-base stock at the airline’s hub and expanded pool access of inventory. Air Astana will also have access to GA Telesis’ inventory of A320-family rotable components and its MRO capabilities for components and aerostructures.
