Royal Jordanian is carrying out a comprehensive upgrade program on its Boeing 787-8 fleet, which consists of seven aircraft.
The refurbishment includes the installation of inflight Wi-Fi connectivity, a full interior cabin refurbishment aligned with Royal Jordanian’s premium service standards, and a new unified livery across its fleet of Airbus, Boeing, and Embraer jets.
The first refurbished 787-8 is scheduled to re-join the fleet by the end of October 2025.
The airline, one of the early operators of the 787, said it will also induct its first 787-9, the first of six, in early 2026.
The carrier also announced on Oct. 14 that it is expanding its narrowbody and short-haul operations.
A newly delivered Airbus A320neo brings the total A320neo fleet to 12 aircraft, while two new Embraer E2 jets will strengthen regional connectivity, increasing the airline’s Embraer fleet to seven.
By the end of 2025, Royal Jordanian expects nearly 70% of its aircraft to be renewed, with most less than a year old.
The airline is also investing heavily in its cargo operations, including the deployment of a dedicated A321 passenger-to-freighter (A321PF) aircraft and the expansion of its Air Cargo Operations Center at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman.
Royal Jordanian Vice Chairman and CEO Samer Majali said the introduction of the new aircraft supports its strategic goal of promoting tourism and serving key destinations, in line with Royal Jordanian’s ongoing efforts to position Jordan as a preferred tourist destination.
Royal Jordanian, which currently serves 55 direct destinations worldwide, is expected to grow its fleet to around 40 aircraft over the coming years.
