Liebherr-Aerospace, a supplier of aviation systems and components, will expand its MRO footprint at Lindenberg, Germany, this year to meet sustained demand across several aircraft programs.

As part of its expansion plans, Toulouse-headquartered Liebherr will increase its facility by around 65,000 ft.2 by expanding customer service and assembly areas linked to repair and refurbishment throughput. At Lindenberg, located in Allgau in Germany’s Bavaria region, the company repairs landing gear systems, flight control and actuation systems, air management systems, and deploys technologies such as surface treatments.

Growth in these areas will enable it to handle higher MRO volumes, improve turnaround times and enhance operational efficiency. The business plans to achieve this by demolishing its old administration building and replacing it with a newer, more modern infrastructure.

The company said the expansion is primarily driven by rising MRO demand across the aviation industry and is tied to factors such as maturing aircraft fleets, increased demand for aftermarket services and more complex, advanced aircraft systems requiring specialized services.

Among the cited programs is the Airbus A350, for which Liebherr provides critical systems, including the slat actuation and nose landing gear—the largest produced at Lindenberg. As the global A350 fleet ages, demand for servicing these components is expected to rise significantly, creating a long-term MRO pipeline.

Liebherr is also expanding its on-site employee facilities by building a new office complex of around 107,000 ft.2
