Textron Aviation has delivered its 500th Cessna Citation CJ4 light jet to a customer in the Philippines, the company announced.
Introduced in 2006, the Citation CJ4 made its first flight on May 5, 2008, in Wichita. The model 525C was certified by the FAA on March 12, 2010, ahead of its first delivery on April 15, 2010.
The upgraded version, the Citation CJ4 Gen 2, was first delivered March 9, 2021. The next version, the Citation CJ4 Gen3, is expected to achieve FAA certification later this year. The CJ4 has a list price of $12.8 million.
The flight-test program for the CJ4 Gen3 has completed more than 880 flight-test hours across two test aircraft to date, the company reports. The Gen3 version includes Garmin G3000 Prime avionics and Garmin Emergency Autoland. It is expected to feature a maximum range of 2,165 nm and a maximum payload of 2,200 lb. with seating for up to 11 occupants.
In 2025, the company delivered 30 CJ4s to customers, up from 26 the year before.
