The Aviation Week Photo Contest received more complete entries in 2025 than it has for many years. The contest judges look for originality every year, and while photographs of aircraft emerging from a ring of vapor have become pretty common, we have never seen an aircraft so heavily shrouded as the Lockheed Martin F-22 on the cover, which also leads off this year’s Photography Issue section.
