As the Sun dipped below the horizon, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection’s Grumman S-2 dropped retardant on the Pyrite Fire in Jurupa Valley, California. This vantage point provided the best angle to photograph the aircraft dropping on a mountainous area. The low light required a higher ISO, wide open lens and shutter speed adjustment.
