FARNBOROUGH—Turkish Airlines signed a contract with CAE during the Farnborough Airshow for five full-flight simulators (FFS) and two flight training devices (FTD), with options for two additional FFSs.
The deal covers two Airbus A321neo FFSs, one Airbus A350 FFS, two Boeing 787 FFSs and two A350 FTDs as well as options for one each additional A350 FFS and 787 FFS.
Turkish Airlines is expanding its pilot training capacity and strengthening its training infrastructure in line with the airline’s planned fleet growth. The airline broke ground on a new flight training center in January that is expected to become fully operational in 2028.
“This agreement will help ensure we continue meeting the growing training demands of our expanding operations while maintaining the world-class standards our passengers expect from Turkish Airlines, " Turkish Airlines chairman Murat Şeker said.
CAE president and CEO Matthew Bromberg said Turkish Airlines had been working with CAE for more than 20 years and was a strategic partner.
