Southwest Airlines plans to launch four new international routes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) for the 2027 summer season.

The carrier revealed it will open flights from the Texas capital to Liberia, Costa Rica; Nassau, Bahamas; and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The three routes will be flown twice weekly on a seasonal basis from June 3 through Aug. 2, 2027.

Southwest previously announced it will operate a new seasonal route between AUS and San José, Costa Rica, beginning March 13, 2027. The four destinations are not currently connected to AUS.

The carrier will also fly between AUS and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, during the 2027 summer, bringing back a seasonal service it operated during the 2026 summer.

Once all the new services launch, Southwest will operate seven international routes from AUS. The airline currently flies from AUS to Mexican destinations Cancun and San Jose del Cabo.

Domestically, Southwest will bring back summer seasonal service between AUS and San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 2027. The carrier will also add four new domestic summer seasonal routes for 2027 from AUS: Bozeman, Montana; Sarasota, Florida; Savannah, Georgia; and Knoxville, Tennessee.

Southwest is the leading airline at the airport, operating 44.2% of two-way seats for the week commencing Oct. 5, according to OAG Schedules Analyzer data.

AUS is one of four airports where the carrier is building its first premium lounges with a targeted opening of late 2027.
