Batik Air will launch a weekly service between Langkawi International Airport and Tashkent International Airport on Dec. 14, responding to rising demand from the Uzbekistan market. The new route complements the carrier’s existing Kuala Lumpur–Tashkent operation. “We’re thrilled to support the growing number of travelers coming to Langkawi. This route gives emerging markets like Uzbekistan a direct link to one of Malaysia’s most iconic island destinations,” Batik Air CEO Chandran Rama Muthy says.
JetBlue will launch new nonstop service to Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport in Florida beginning March 5, 2026, adding 5X-weekly seasonal flights from both Boston and New York John F. Kennedy. The carrier says the move expands its presence in Florida, where it has announced more than 30 new routes this year and plans additional launches in Vero Beach and Daytona Beach next month. “Florida continues to be a place where JetBlue’s combination of great service and value resonates strongly with travelers,” says Vice President of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships Dave Jehn.
Spirit Airlines has inaugurated nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Key West International Airport. The route will operate up to three times per week on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, increasing to daily service on Dec. 18. “Spirit Airlines beginning service at Key West International Airport is a win for tourism and the Florida Keys," says Executive Director of Airports Richard Strickland. "This convenient new route will connect the Keys to dozens of destinations across Spirit's network, further broadening our global reach." The addition of Key West marks the ULCC’s eighth destination in Florida.

Jetstar plans to launch a new international connection from Australia’s Sunshine Coast in March 2026, introducing flights to Bali. The Sunshine Coast-Bali service begins March 25 and will operate three times per week using Airbus A321LR aircraft, adding more than 70,000 seats annually. The new route becomes Jetstar’s 10th from Australia to Bali and fourth out of Queensland, following the launch of its flights from the Gold Coast earlier this year.
Plus Ultra Lineas Aereas will add Buenos Aires to its network in spring 2026 as part of a wider expansion in the Americas. The Spanish airline plans to launch 2X-weekly Madrid-Buenos Aires Ezeiza flights in May, increasing to 4X-weekly services from July to meet peak-season demand. The announcement aligns with the airline’s fleet-growth strategy, which includes adding two Airbus A330s by the end of 2025. Buenos Aires will become Plus Ultra’s fifth scheduled destination in Latin America, joining Bogota, Cartagena, Lima and Caracas.
Oman’s SalamAir will commence flights between Muscat and Abha, Saudi Arabia, on Dec. 16. Abha becomes the LCC’s fifth destination in Saudi Arabia, joining Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina and Dammam. Service to the city will be 4X-weekly. “This new route demonstrates our ongoing commitment to strengthening links between Oman and the wider Gulf Cooperation Council, while opening new opportunities for tourism and trade,” SalamAir CCO Steven Allen says.
Canada’s Porter Airlines has begun roundtrip service between Toronto Pearson and Cancun, marking the carrier’s first route outside Canada and the U.S. and the start of a broader expansion into Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. The service is operated with 132-seat Embraer 195-E2 aircraft. The Toronto-Cancun schedule increases to daily service in December and up to 2X-daily by January. Porter will also launch nonstop Cancun services from Hamilton and Ottawa on Dec. 17.
Ryanair has expanded its Turin base with the arrival of a third aircraft, a move the airline says reflects continued investment in the northern Italian market. The additional aircraft will support 31 routes and more than 368 weekly flights from Sandro Pertini Airport, alongside increased frequencies on key services including Dublin, London Stansted, Madrid, Marrakech and Trapani.
Air Arabia has launched nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kazan, Russia. The service operates weekly on Fridays. “This new route underscores our commitment to offering customers affordable and reliable air travel while supporting Ras Al Khaimah’s continued growth as a key hub for tourism and trade,” Air Arabia Group CEO Adel Al Ali says. The move comes a week after Air Arabia started nonstop weekly flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Yekaterinburg, Russia.

Breeze Airways has announced seven route additions across the western U.S. and Florida, including the carrier’s debut at Magic Valley Regional Airport in Twin Falls, Idaho. The expansion includes multiple new links from Las Vegas and Orange County, all beginning in early March and April 2026. From Las Vegas, the airline will add a 2X-weekly service to Twin Falls and 3X-weekly service to Orange County starting March 6, followed by the launch of 2X-weekly flights to Arcata-Eureka Airport beginning March 11 using Airbus A220-300s. A 2X-weekly Las Vegas-Lincoln service will begin on April 8. The Las Vegas-Orange County route will increase to 5X-weekly on March 15 and daily service on April 8. From Orange County, Breeze will add two flights per week to Twin Falls on March 6 and a 2X-weekly service to Lincoln from April 8. The carrier will also begin 2X-weekly Orlando-Pensacola flights on March 1. However, Breeze has canceled three previously planned Burbank routes. Services to Eugene, Pasco and Redmond—scheduled to start in March and April—have been removed from the timetable.
British Airways plans to withdraw three short-haul routes from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) at the end of March, according to GDS inventory analysis by CAPA – Centre for Aviation. The airline is scheduled to end 3X-weekly Riga service on March 27, 2026, followed by its 12X-weekly Cologne flights and 2X-daily Stuttgart service on March 28. Separately, BA CityFlyer will suspend its 10X-weekly London City-Frankfurt route on March 27.
Finnair plans to operate a record 25 weekly flights to Thailand during the winter 2026-27 season. The carrier will boost Helsinki-Bangkok service to up to 18 flights per week—four more than this winter—offering as many as 3X-daily frequencies. Finnair will also restore nonstop service to Krabi for the first time since 2019. Two flights per week from Helsinki will operate on Mondays and Thursdays. Additionally, the carrier’s Thailand network next winter will also include 5X-weekly flights to Phuket.
Eurowings has launched a new nonstop service connecting Berlin Brandenburg Airport with Abu Dhabi. The route operates three times per week using Airbus A320 aircraft. “Eurowings' arrival marks the welcoming of a new member to our family of carriers,” says Nathalie Jongma, senior vice president of aviation development at Abu Dhabi Airports. “It also introduces a highly demanded direct link to Berlin, a vital European city. This new connection underscores our commitment to growing our network, supporting tourism and fostering stronger business ties between the UAE and Germany."
Turkish Airlines has restarted flights between Istanbul and Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, which were halted in April 2023. The move increases the carrier’s network in Iraq to six destinations alongside Baghdad, Basra, Erbil, Kirkuk and Najaf. Sulaymaniyah will be served four times per week on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays during the winter 2025-26 season, rising to daily from March 27, 2026.

Cathay Pacific has launched nonstop passenger service between Hong Kong and Changsha, expanding the Cathay Group’s mainland China network to 24 destinations served by Cathay Pacific and HK Express. Flights will be operated daily using Airbus A321neo aircraft. Changsha marks the Cathay Group’s fifth new destination in the Chinese mainland launched in 2025, alongside Urumqi operated by Cathay Pacific and Changzhou, Yiwu and Guiyang operated by HK Express.
Air China plans to commence 4X-weekly flights between Beijing Capital and Abu Dhabi on Jan. 24, 2026. The route will be operated with Boeing 787-9 aircraft and will make the airline the sole scheduled carrier on the airport pair.
Emirates will add capacity on its Dubai-Cairo route this winter, introducing six additional weekly frequencies from Dec. 1 using Boeing 777 equipment. The move takes the number of weekly flights to 34. Frequencies will further increase to 35X-weekly from Feb. 1, 2026. “As one of the region's busiest gateways for both passengers and cargo, Cairo has long been a key destination for Emirates,” Emirates Deputy President and CCO Adnan Kazim says. “The additional service will make it easier for customers to connect across our network, while fostering strong trade and tourism links between Egypt, the UAE and the wider world.”
Volotea has launched a new domestic route in Spain linking Madrid Barajas Airport with Asturias Airport. The route will operate four times per week—on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays—before shifting to twice a week between December and February. Volotea says the new link responds to strong demand and is aimed at both leisure and business travelers, particularly weekend traffic. The airline has carried more than 740,000 passengers from Madrid since launching service there in 2017 and now serves 12 destinations from the airport.
Ryanair has begun winter service between Manchester and Rovaniemi, Finland, operating twice a week as part of its winter 2025-26 program. Separately, the ULCC has announced plans to expand its summer 2026 schedule from Slovakia with a new route linking Kosice and Malaga. The service strengthens Ryanair’s presence in eastern Slovakia and follows the success of other seasonal routes such as Kosice-Zadar.

Qatar Airways and Air Algerie have signed a codeshare agreement to expand connectivity between Algeria and key destinations across Asia and the Middle East through Doha’s Hamad International Airport. The partnership builds on the airlines’ existing interline cooperation and gives Qatar Airways passengers access to Algiers and six domestic destinations in Algeria—Annaba, Constantine, Oran, Tamanrasset, Timimoun and Tindouf—while Air Algerie customers gain connections to Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Muscat. The carriers say the agreement “will soon be expanded to include additional destinations.”
Delta Air Lines will resume flights to Tel Aviv from both Atlanta and Boston in 2026. Service from Atlanta will begin April 15, operating three times per week, while daily flights from Boston will launch Oct. 24. The routes will be operated by Airbus A350-900 and A330neo aircraft. The announcement follows Delta’s restart of daily New York John F. Kennedy to Tel Aviv service in September and a planned second daily frequency from late November through mid-January. Meanwhile, Italy’s ITA Airways will also restore service between Rome Fiumicino and Tel Aviv from Jan. 1. Flights will be 2X-daily using A321neo aircraft.
Latvia’s airBaltic has launched direct flights between Gran Canaria and Ljubljana operating weekly on Fridays through early April 2026. The new route connects the carrier’s seasonal base in the Canary Islands with Slovenia’s capital, using Airbus A220-300 aircraft. The service is expected to attract more visitors from Central Europe to Gran Canaria during the winter, while giving island residents new access to destinations in Central and Northern Europe.
China Eastern Airlines is increasing the frequency of its Shanghai-New Delhi service from three to 5X-weekly flights starting Jan. 2, 2026, in response to rising demand from the Indian market. The route will be operated by Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The expansion follows the planned resumption of flights to India on Nov. 9, 2025, and precedes further growth plans, including proposed routes to Mumbai and Kolkata.
IndiGo will launch nonstop flights between Bengaluru and Riyadh from Nov. 16, 2025, expanding its network between India and Saudi Arabia. The new service will operate five times per week using Airbus A320 aircraft. Riyadh becomes the second Saudi city to be directly connected to Bengaluru, after Jeddah.
Hong Kong Airlines will resume daily nonstop flights between Hong Kong and Hanoi from Dec. 19. “Vietnam’s tourism market has seen rapid growth in recent years, leading to a significant increase in demand for air travel,” says Li Dianchun, executive vice president of Hong Kong Airlines. Additionally, the carrier intends to restart Hong Kong-Xi’an service from Dec. 18, operating up to 5X-weekly.
Air New Zealand will offer seasonal nonstop flights between Christchurch and Rarotonga from May 26 to Oct. 24, 2026. The service will operate up to three times weekly, with 18,000 seats available across the season. “We’ve seen strong appetite for travel to Rarotonga from our Christchurch customers, so this is fantastic news for the South Island,” Air New Zealand CEO Nikhil Ravishankar says. He adds that the new route “strengthens Christchurch’s position as a key international gateway.”
FlyNamibia and Fastjet have announced a new partnership effective Nov. 1. The collaboration aligns flight schedules between FlyNamibia’s Windhoek-Victoria Falls route and Fastjet’s Victoria Falls-Harare service. “This partnership with Fastjet represents progress for regional air travel,” FlyNamibia CEO Nerine Uys says. “By connecting Windhoek and Harare through Victoria Falls, we are helping to move people, ideas and opportunity across our borders.”
Ryanair plans to expand its network from Malmo Airport for summer 2026, adding new routes to London Stansted and Warsaw Modlin and resuming service to Zagreb. Starting March 30, the ULCC will operate Malmo-Zagreb four times per week and Malmo-Warsaw twice a week, followed by Malmo-London Stansted 2X-weekly from April 1.
