Air Transat is adding Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, and Rio Hato, Panama, to its winter 2026-27 network. The airline will offer weekly service to Las Palmas in the Canary Islands from Montreal and Toronto starting Dec. 12 through April 4, 2027. Montreal flights will operate on Saturdays, while Toronto departures will operate on Sundays. Both routes will operate using Airbus A321neo aircraft. “Las Palmas offers the best of both worlds: the sunshine and mild climate of the Canary Islands combined with Europe’s charm and cultural richness,” says Sebastian Ponce, chief revenue officer at Transat. The carrier says the additions continue its strategy of expanding and diversifying its Iberian and leisure network. Alongside the new Las Palmas service, Air Transat now offers Spain service to Madrid, Malaga, Barcelona and Valencia, with the latter four routes operating year-round. Additionally, the carrier also is adding a new Quebec City-Rio Hato route. The weekly Sunday service will operate from Dec. 20 through April 25, 2027.


El Al Israel Airlines has opened ticket sales for new nonstop services to Seoul and Buenos Aires. Flights between Tel Aviv and Seoul will begin on March 27, 2027, operating three times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturday using Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The airline has also opened sales for its new Buenos Aires route, which will launch on Nov. 29, 2026, with 2X-weekly flights on Sundays and Tuesdays. The Buenos Aires service will become El Al’s longest route, with a flight time exceeding 16 hr., and marks the first nonstop connection between Israel and South America in more than a decade.


Jet2.com is expanding its Jersey program for summer 2027 with new routes from Birmingham and Bristol, England, additional capacity from Manchester and a season extension through the end of October. The carrier will launch Birmingham-Jersey service on May 2, 2027, operating three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays through Oct. 10. Bristol-Jersey flights will begin May 14, 2027, with 2X-weekly service on Mondays and Fridays through Oct. 11. Jet2 also will expand Manchester-Jersey operations to 3X-weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from May 2 through Oct. 31, 2027. The airline said it expects to operate up to 15X-weekly Jersey flights during peak periods and offer nearly 120,000 seats between the Channel Island and the UK mainland for summer 2027, representing a capacity increase of more than 140% compared with summer 2026.


Singapore Airlines has canceled its Singapore-Dubai services through Aug. 2, citing the ongoing geopolitical situation in the Middle East. The affected flights are SQ494 from Singapore to Dubai and SQ495 from Dubai to Singapore. The airline says additional services could also be impacted as the situation remains fluid and advised passengers to monitor flight status updates through its website.


Brazil’s GOL Linhas Aereas has launched a new domestic route between Rio de Janeiro Galeao and Uberlandia, expanding connectivity between Rio and the Triangulo Mineiro region. The new service operates three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. GOL says the route strengthens Galeao’s role as the airline’s international hub while improving access from Uberlandia to the carrier’s domestic and international network and partner airlines.

LOT Polish Airlines has inaugurated its first nonstop service between Warsaw and San Francisco. The new transatlantic route will operate through Oct. 22, with up to four flights per week. San Francisco becomes the airline’s sixth U.S. destination, joining Chicago, New York, Newark, Miami and Los Angeles. Flights are operated by Boeing 787 aircraft. “Today's launch of the Warsaw-San Francisco service is more than an expansion of our route network. It is an investment in a route that connects business, innovation and global ambition,” says Robert Ludera, CCO at LOT Polish Airlines.


EasyJet has announced two route additions to its winter 2026-27 network. From Oct. 30, the airline will launch weekly nonstop flights between Hamburg and Seville, expanding its Hamburg network to nine direct destinations following recent additions including Prague, Geneva and Marrakech. In the UK, the LCC will also introduce a new Belfast City-London Southend service from Oct. 25, operating three times per week on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays.


Frontier Airlines will launch nonstop service between Memphis (MEM) and Orlando from July 5. The route will initially operate three times per week on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through Sept. 13, before reducing to twice weekly thereafter. “We at MEM are excited to see Frontier add another option to one of our most popular destinations in Orlando,” said Michael Keeney, chairman of the Board of Commissioners for the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority.

Breeze Airways has added new nonstop routes across its domestic and international network, including its first-ever service to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands and further expansion from Atlantic City. The network update adds new international flying from Columbus, Pittsburgh, Richmond and Tampa, while also expanding Breeze’s footprint at Atlantic City, where it now serves seven nonstop destinations—the most of any airline at the airport. “Launching service to the U.S. Virgin Islands on the cusp of our five-year anniversary speaks to how far Breeze has come in that time,” says David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Breeze Airways. “Whether it’s a new destination like St. Thomas or making sure travelers in Atlantic City have affordable options, we’re continuing to grow where the demand is—and we’re just getting started.”


Air Transat has resumed nonstop service between Toronto Pearson and Berlin Brandenburg, restarting the route earlier than last year and increasing peak-season capacity. The seasonal service is now operating up to three times per week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with one additional weekly frequency added during the peak summer period. Flights will run through Oct. 23 using Airbus A321LR aircraft.


Vietjet Air will launch nonstop flights between Da Nang and Novosibirsk, expanding its Vietnam-Russia network for the 2026 summer season. The new service will operate between May 20 and Oct. 24 using Airbus A330 aircraft configured for up to 377 passengers.


Air Arabia Abu Dhabi has inaugurated a new nonstop service to Amman City Airport, expanding its footprint in Jordan and adding a second airport in the capital to its network. The route operates three times per week between Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport and Amman Civil Airport, complementing existing services to Queen Alia International Airport.

ITA Airways has launched nonstop service between Rome Fiumicino and Houston George Bush Intercontinental. The route expands the carrier’s North American network to nine destinations. Flights will initially be 3X-weekly using Airbus A330-900 aircraft. “Houston is a key addition for our airline, representing a further growth in our long haul-network, on which we intend to build our future development,” says Joerg Eberhart, CEO of ITA Airways. “The new service opens up more of Italy to Houstonians and the wider Gulf Coast region, providing a direct gateway to Rome and onward connections across Italy and Europe.”


Euroairlines has signed an interline agreement with Hong Kong’s Greater Bay Airlines, expanding both carriers’ reach across Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East. The move allows passengers to combine flights from both carriers on a single itinerary. “This agreement allows us to offer our customers more destinations and greater travel options to Asia, one of the most dynamic markets in the world,” says Antonio López-Lázaro, CEO of Euroairlines.


Southwest Airlines plans to expand service at Las Vegas and Orlando following the collapse of Spirit Airlines, adding new routes and more frequencies through spring 2027. The LCC says Las Vegas will gain new service to 10 airports, while it plans to introduce or expand service on 26 of the 81 routes it operates to and from Las Vegas. Frequencies will also increase on 15 existing routes, pushing the airport to a record number of daily departures. In Orlando, Southwest says it will roll out its largest-ever schedule later this year, with new or expanded service on 23 of 68 routes and additional frequencies on 17 existing markets. By 2027, the carrier expects to operate more than 200 daily departures from Orlando International Airport.


Air Serbia has commenced flights between Belgrade and Baku, Azerbaijan. The new service operates twice a week. Flights depart Belgrade on Wednesdays and Sundays, with return services from Baku on Thursdays and Sundays. “By introducing a direct service between Belgrade and Baku, Air Serbia is not only expanding its network of destinations, but also establishing another key bridge in the strategic partnership between Serbia and Azerbaijan,” says Jiří Marek, CEO of Air Serbia. “This route is a direct response to the growing need for stronger connectivity between the Balkans and the Caucasus region, which will strengthen Belgrade’s position as a regional transport hub of Southeast Europe.”

Qatar Airways will resume passenger services to three Iraqi cities from May 10, restoring flights to Baghdad, Basra and Erbil as part of its phased regional network rebuild. In parallel, the airline will also reintroduce freighter services to Baghdad from May 7, supporting cargo demand alongside the passenger relaunch. The resumptions follow Qatar Airways’ recent restoration of services to Dubai, Sharjah, Bahrain, Damascus and Kozhikode, as the carrier continues rebuilding connectivity following disruption in recent months due to the Middle East crisis.


Avianca plans to boost its U.S. network with additional frequencies on three routes, subject to government approval. The expansion would add a second daily flight on Bogota-Fort Lauderdale, increase Barranquilla-Miami from 3X-weekly to daily and make Medellín-Orlando a permanent daily service.


EasyJet has expanded its Birmingham, England, operation with the arrival of a sixth based aircraft. The additional Airbus A320 strengthens the LCC’s Birmingham base, where the airline now serves 44 routes and is set to operate its largest-ever summer schedule from the airport. The expansion coincides with the launch of a new Birmingham-Nice service, which will run twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays.


Condor has launched service to Venice Marco Polo Airport, expanding its Italian network from Frankfurt. The new route operates 3X-daily and complements the airline’s year-round service to Milan Malpensa and resumed summer flights to Rome Fiumicino. “With the addition of flights from Venice, we are providing Italian travelers with even more options to reach key destinations around the world,” says David Carlisle, vice president for network planning and partnerships at Condor.
