Germany’s Condor will launch seasonal nonstop service between Frankfurt and Chicago O'Hare in summer 2027, adding its 12th destination in the U.S. and Canada. The route will operate daily from May 14 through Sept. 12 using Airbus A330neo aircraft. “Chicago is an ideal addition to our North American network and a market with significant potential for both leisure and business travel,” Condor CEO Peter Gerber says. The launch also coincides with Condor's planned move to Frankfurt Airport's Terminal 3 for the 2027 summer schedule.
Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) has restricted Flybondi’s sale of airline tickets in the Brazilian market, citing a sharp deterioration in the Argentine LCC’s operational performance. Effective immediately, Flybondi is prohibited from selling tickets for planned services to Florianopolis, Maceio and Salvador, and may not add new routes, frequencies or operations in Brazil. ANAC says the airline canceled 79% of its Brazil flights between July 1-27 and identified operational shortcomings and consumer service issues. The regulator also warned it will suspend ticket sales on the Buenos Aires-Rio de Janeiro Galeao route from Aug. 3 unless the carrier demonstrates it has implemented measures to restore reliable operations. As previously reported by Aviation Week, the airline has faced mounting pressure in recent months.
UK leisure carrier Jet2.com has launched its winter 2027-28 ski program from Glasgow Airport, offering seasonal flights to Geneva. The airline will operate weekly Saturday services from mid-December 2027 throughout the winter season.

Saudi Arabia’s Flynas and Turkish Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement designed to expand connectivity across the carriers' combined networks. According to the airlines, passengers will gain access to a broader range of destinations through integrated itineraries, coordinated schedules and streamlined connections. The carriers have not yet specified the codeshare routes. OAG Schedules Analyser data shows that Flynas currently operates 14 airport-pair routes across seven Turkish airports, while Turkish Airlines serves 10 Saudi destinations from Istanbul Airport.
British Airways plans to operate a seasonal service between London Heathrow and Cologne Bonn this winter. The airline will offer the route 5X-weekly from Nov. 23 through Dec. 28, with flights on Mondays and Thursdays through Sundays using Airbus A320-family aircraft. The seasonal service adds another nonstop option between western Germany and the UK capital during the peak Christmas travel period.
FlyDubai has increased capacity to Italy, raising Dubai-Naples flights to daily and boosting Dubai-Milan Bergamo service to 2X-daily. Daily flights to Naples began on July 27, while Milan Bergamo will increase to 14X-weekly from July 31. Between Nov. 1-30, the Naples service will temporarily operate to Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport while Naples Airport undergoes maintenance, before returning to Naples on Dec. 1. The routes are operated under FlyDubai's codeshare partnership with Emirates.
Saudia has expanded its codeshare partnership with Delta Air Lines, Air France-KLM and Virgin Atlantic, increasing one-stop access to nearly 30 destinations across the U.S. and Canada. The enhanced agreement allows Saudia passengers to connect to North American destinations via the airlines' hubs at Paris Charles de Gaulle, Amsterdam Schiphol and London Heathrow. The expansion builds on Saudia's network of more than 26 codeshare partnerships.

Volotea will open a new operating base at Ancona Airport in December, establishing its eighth base in Italy and 22nd across Europe. The LCC will station an Airbus A320 at the airport. The airline currently serves six destinations from Ancona—Catania, Olbia, Palermo, Paris Orly, Barcelona and Madrid—and is offering more than 150,000 seats from the airport in 2026, up 12% year on year. The carrier says additional routes will be announced in the coming weeks, while Palermo will return as a year-round service.
Vietnam’s Sun PhuQuoc Airways intends to launch daily nonstop service between Phu Quoc and Kuala Lumpur on Sept. 1, adding Malaysia as its seventh international market served from the Vietnamese island. “Malaysia is currently one of the international tourist markets with great potential for Phu Quoc tourism,” the airline says. “At the same time, Kuala Lumpur is also an important aviation gateway in Southeast Asia with a network connecting widely across the region and the world.”
Air France and KLM will increase capacity on several long-haul routes during the 2026-27 northern winter season. Air France plans to add 2X-weekly flights between Paris Charles de Gaulle and Fort-de-France, Martinique, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from March 9-25, 2027, bringing the route to 2X-daily. KLM will boost services to Zanzibar/Dar es Salaam, Tokyo Narita, Osaka Kansai, Sao Paulo and Las Vegas at various points during the winter schedule to meet seasonal demand. The airline will also continue introducing its Airbus A350 fleet, with a second aircraft entering service on Nov. 30, followed by a third from March 1.
China Southern Airlines plans to increase flights between Guangzhou and Perth to daily during the peak southern summer season. The airline will operate daily service from Dec. 1 through March 10, 2027, up from 3X-weekly, providing 55,200 seats over the 14-week period. Perth Airport says the increase reflects growing confidence in the Western Australian market and is expected to support inbound tourism, international education, VFR traffic and trade.

Flydubai will resume nonstop service between Dubai and Budapest on July 31, restoring the route with 3X-weekly flights before increasing to daily from Oct. 25 for the northern winter season. Operated in partnership with Emirates under the airlines’ codeshare agreement, the service offers single-ticket itineraries and through-checked baggage. The Budapest resumption follows Flydubai's recent network additions to Aleppo, Bangkok and Benghazi, with Pokhara due to join the network on Sept. 23.
Egypt’s Air Cairo has expanded its network to Greece, launching scheduled services from Cairo and Alexandria to Athens. The carrier says the new routes are expected to stimulate tourism and trade between the two countries. The airline also plans to further expand its Greek network in the coming months by launching flights to Athens from Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh, providing additional access to Egypt’s Red Sea resorts.
Juneyao Air has increased frequencies on two of its European routes from Shanghai Pudong, boosting service to Athens and Manchester. The carrier has increased Shanghai-Athens flights to 6X-weekly, with OAG schedules showing a further increase to daily from Sept. 28 before reverting to 4X-weekly for the winter season from Oct. 26. Juneyao Air has also raised Shanghai-Manchester service to 5X-weekly.

Alaska Airlines will launch a new seasonal nonstop route between Portland, Oregon, and Steamboat Springs, Colorado, for the 2027 winter ski season. The service will operate 2X-weekly on Thursdays and Saturdays from Feb. 11 through March 28 using Embraer 175 aircraft. The route connects Portland International Airport and Yampa Valley Regional Airport.
German leisure carrier Condor plans to base an additional Airbus A320 at Münster/Osnabruck Airport (FMO) during the summer 2027 season. The airline will continue its winter routes to Gran Canaria and Tenerife in Spain and Hurghada, Egypt, through the summer schedule until November 2027. From May 2027, Condor will also launch services to Fuerteventura, Spain, and Rhodes, Heraklion and Chania in Greece, with Chania being served from FMO for the first time. Flights to Palma de Mallorca will resume from the end of March 2027 for the Easter holiday period. With the summer expansion, Condor will have two aircraft based at FMO during the season.
Australia’s competition regulator has proposed approving a joint venture between Singapore Airlines and All Nippon Airways, allowing the carriers to coordinate aspects of their operations between Australia and Japan, as well as selected onward markets. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued a draft determination proposing to authorize the partnership for five years and has granted interim authorization allowing the airlines to begin planning and discussing the cooperation, although not yet implementing it. The regulator is seeking public submissions on the proposal until Aug. 7 before issuing a final decision.
Uzbekistan Airways and China Southern Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement. The deal covers Uzbekistan Airways’ services from Tashkent to Beijing Daxing, Guangzhou, Urumqi and Hangzhou, as well as China Southern’s flights from Beijing Daxing, Guangzhou and Urumqi to Tashkent.
Air Astana has applied to the U.S. Department of Transportation for an exemption to operate scheduled and charter passenger and cargo services between Kazakhstan and the U.S. In its application, the carrier says it intends to begin scheduled U.S. flights once Kazakhstan receives an FAA International Aviation Safety Assessment Category 1 rating. Air Astana plans to operate the services using 303-seat Boeing 787 aircraft and is seeking authority to operate from points behind Kazakhstan via the country and intermediate points to destinations throughout the U.S. and beyond.
Air France and Cyprus Airways have launched a codeshare partnership between Paris Charles de Gaulle and Larnaca. Air France will place its code on Cyprus Airways’ flights between destinations, with the route operating up to 6X-weekly during the summer peak season using Airbus A220 aircraft. The carriers have also introduced an interline agreement allowing passengers to connect between Paris and Larnaca via Athens or Milan Malpensa.
