Cathay Pacific plans to increase seasonal service between Hong Kong and Adelaide, expanding the route to 5X-weekly flights during the peak southern summer. The airline will operate the service three times a week between Nov. 10 and March 27, 2027, increasing to 5X-weekly flights from December through February. The expanded schedule represents a nearly 50% increase in seat capacity compared with the route's first season after returning in 2025. Flights will be operated using an Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
Kuwait Airways has resumed scheduled service to Damascus, launching daily nonstop flights between Kuwait City and the Syrian capital. The airline says the service is aimed at meeting demand for business, family and leisure travel while strengthening connectivity between Kuwait and Syria.
Flydubai will add a second daily flight between Dubai and Bangkok Don Mueang from July 18, less than three weeks after launching the route, citing strong demand. The additional frequency will complement the daily service introduced on July 1. At the same time, Flydubai will increase flights to Krabi from 4X-weekly to daily, bringing its Thailand operation to up to 21X-weekly flights.

Cathay Pacific will expand both its long-haul network and Latin American reach for the northern winter season, increasing Hong Kong-Madrid flights to daily and adding four new Iberia codeshare destinations beyond the Spanish capital. From Oct. 25, the airline will increase its Madrid service from 4X-weekly flights to daily, adding three new frequencies on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The additional capacity supports new codeshare services with Iberia to Buenos Aires, Fortaleza, Recife and Santo Domingo, with Argentina and the Dominican Republic joining Cathay's codeshare network for the first time. Separately, Cathay Pacific will increase its Christchurch-Hong Kong service from three to 5X-weekly flights from December through February 2027.
Jet2.com plans to launch a new winter route between London Stansted and Innsbruck, Austria. The airline will operate weekly Saturday flights from Dec. 19 through Apr. 10, 2027, adding more than 6,000 seats. Innsbruck becomes the carrier’s fifth ski destination from London Stansted, joining Chambery, Geneva, Grenoble and Salzburg.
Air Nostrum will expand its peak summer schedule with more than 20 seasonal routes and increased frequencies across Spain, the Balearic and Canary Islands. Among the additions are new domestic links between Almeria and Santander from July 18, Palma de Mallorca and Logrono from July 21, and Melilla and Valencia from July 21. Melilla will also gain seasonal connections to Asturias (from Aug. 4), Santiago de Compostela (from July 25) and Tenerife North (from July 23), while Leon will be linked with Gran Canaria, Tenerife North and Malaga. Ibiza will add seasonal services to Nice, Geneva and Lleida, while Menorca will also regain links with Lleida. Air Nostrum is also increasing frequencies from Palma de Mallorca to Vigo and Valladolid. Internationally, the carrier is adding a new Malaga-Tangier route with up to 3X-weekly flights from July 18, while boosting the Malaga-Nice service to daily. The airline is also launching new Santander-Vigo and Santander-Jerez routes, each operating 2X-weekly from July 18.
South African Airways and Turkish Airlines have implemented a codeshare agreement. Effective July 15, Turkish Airlines has added its code to South African Airways-operated flights from Johannesburg to Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Windhoek, Harare, Victoria Falls and Mauritius. South African Airways has, in turn, placed its code on Turkish Airlines services linking Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban with Istanbul, as well as onward flights to Paris, London and Frankfurt.

Alaska Airlines will launch new seasonal nonstop flights from Honolulu to Boise and Spokane this winter while increasing service between Honolulu and Las Vegas. However, Hawaiian Airlines will discontinue its seasonal Auckland route. Beginning Dec. 17, Alaska will introduce daily Boeing 737 service between Boise and Honolulu, followed by weekly Saturday flights between Spokane and Honolulu from Dec. 19 through April 17. The carrier says it will be the only airline serving both routes nonstop, providing onward connections to Hawaii’s neighboring islands. Alaska will also increase Honolulu-Las Vegas service from three to 4X-daily flights during peak winter and spring travel periods. Meanwhile, Hawaiian Airlines will not resume its 3X-weekly seasonal Honolulu-Auckland service, citing high fuel costs, slower-than-expected demand recovery in Pacific markets and unfavorable exchange rates.
Jazeera Airways will expand its Syria network with the launch of nonstop flights between Kuwait and Deir Ezzor. The new 2X-weekly route will begin on Aug. 8, while service to Damascus will increase from three to 4X-daily flights. Flights to Aleppo will continue three times a week. With the addition of Deir Ezzor, Jazeera will become the only airline serving three destinations in Syria from Kuwait and will operate 26X-weekly flights between the two countries. The carrier says it has carried more than 100,000 passengers on its Syria network since resuming flights to Damascus in 2025 and launching Aleppo service earlier this year.
Frontier Airlines will add four routes to its network later this year, including three domestic services and a new link between the U.S. mainland and Puerto Rico. The ULCC will launch daily Denver-Fort Lauderdale and Detroit-Los Angeles flights on Nov. 20, alongside a 4X-weekly Kansas City-Orlando service. Frontier will also introduce daily Houston Intercontinental-San Juan flights from Dec. 17. The additions continue Frontier’s network expansion following its recent move to replace several routes previously operated by Spirit Airlines.
Emirates has increased capacity to Ghana by adding four flights per week between Dubai and Accra, bringing the airline’s schedule on the route to 11 services per week. The additional Boeing 777-300ER-operated flights run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays alongside the carrier’s existing daily service. Emirates has served Accra since 2004.
Iberia Express plans to operate a record 403 weekly flights between Madrid and the Canary Islands during the peak summer season through Aug. 31, expanding capacity across all six destinations it serves. The airline will offer up to 14X-daily flights between Madrid and Tenerife, including a record 10X-daily services to Tenerife North and four to Tenerife South. Service to Gran Canaria will reach up to 11X-daily flights, while Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will each see up to 4X-daily frequencies for the first time. La Palma will also receive 2X-daily flights for much of the peak summer period.
Air China has launched nonstop flights between Chengdu Tianfu and London Gatwick (LGW). The new route operates three times a week throughout the 2026 summer season and becomes Air China’s third destination to LGW alongside Beijing and Shanghai. At the peak of the 2026 summer season, LGW will have 61X-weekly flights to six destinations in China, served by Air China, China Eastern, China Southern and Beijing Capital Airlines.
Air Arabia has commenced nonstop flights between Sharjah and Rome Fiumicino. The new route operates five times a week and becomes the LCC’s second destination in Italy from Sharjah after Milan Bergamo. Flights are operated by Airbus A320neo aircraft. With the addition of Rome, Air Arabia’s European network from Sharjah now includes 10 destinations: Athens, Krakow, London Gatwick, Milan Bergamo, Munich, Prague, Rome, Vienna, Warsaw Chopin and Warsaw Modlin.

BermudAir's AnguillAir brand will expand its winter schedule with a new route to Toronto and additional flights from key U.S. markets, increasing access to Anguilla during the peak travel season. The carrier will launch weekly Saturday service between Toronto Pearson and Anguilla via Providenciales on Dec. 19, operating through May 1, 2027. It will also increase frequencies from Boston and Newark to 2X-weekly nonstop service, add a Saturday Newark-Anguilla flight via Providenciales, introduce additional Baltimore-Washington service and launch 2X-weekly Tampa/St. Petersburg-Anguilla flights via Providenciales.
Aeromexico will offer year-round service between Monterrey and Paris Charles de Gaulle after extending the route beyond its originally planned seasonal operation. Launched as a seasonal service from April through October 2026, the route will now continue indefinitely with 3X-weekly Boeing 787 flights. The airline says the decision follows strong demand from both business and leisure travelers, further strengthening Monterrey's long-haul network alongside existing service to Madrid.
Caribbean Airlines will add 72 extra domestic flights between Trinidad and Tobago during the July-August peak travel period, increasing capacity by 7,656 seats to accommodate higher seasonal demand. The additional services will operate between July 16 and Aug. 31 using a mix of ATR and Boeing 737 aircraft.
AJet will increase frequencies on its Turkey-Kazakhstan network from August, expanding service on both the Astana-Ankara and Almaty-Ankara routes. The Turkish Airlines subsidiary will raise service on each route from two to 7X-weekly flights, providing daily connectivity between Ankara and Kazakhstan's two largest cities. Kazakhstan's Transport Ministry says the additional frequencies will strengthen business, trade and tourism links between the two countries.

Flydubai, Flynas and SunExpress are set to launch new services to Aleppo, Syria, in the coming weeks as international air links to the country continue to recover. Dubai-based LCC Flydubai will resume daily nonstop flights between Dubai and Aleppo from July 20, restoring the route after a nearly 14-year hiatus. Aleppo becomes the carrier's second destination in Syria alongside Damascus, which is now served three times per day following a frequency increase from its relaunch in 2025. Saudi Arabian LCC Flynas will follow on Aug. 1 with 2X-weekly Riyadh-Aleppo flights, complementing its existing network of 24X-weekly services to Damascus from Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam. Meanwhile, SunExpress is scheduled to launch the only nonstop service between Antalya and Aleppo on Aug. 1, operating twice a week with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Wizz Air has announced network additions for the 2026-27 winter season from Moldova and Lithuania. From Chisinau, the airline will launch 4X-weekly flights to Alicante and London Gatwick from Oct. 25, alongside a 2X-weekly service to Frankfurt-Hahn from Oct. 26. Wizz Air will also increase frequencies on routes to Barcelona, Bologna, Bucharest, Dortmund, Memmingen and Nuremberg. From Vilnius, Wizz Air will introduce a new 3X-weekly route to Berlin from Oct. 27, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The ULCC currently offers 26 routes from Lithuania to 19 countries.
Qantas will boost capacity to Japan and New Zealand during the 2026-27 southern summer, adding more than 45,000 seats. The airline will increase Melbourne-Tokyo Narita service from daily to 11 flights per week between December 2026 and March 2027, adding about 30,000 seats. Qantas says passenger numbers to Japan rose 8% year on year to 350,000 between October 2025 and March 2026, while more than 500,000 Australians visited the country during the first five months of 2026. Across the Tasman, Qantas will add more than 15,000 seats on routes from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Queenstown over the peak summer season, while capacity between Sydney and Auckland will increase by up to 10% through a combination of larger aircraft and additional flights.
Iberia will add Salerno, Italy, to its network with a month-long service from Madrid in November. The carrier will operate daily Airbus A320 flights between Madrid and Salerno throughout the month, offering nearly 10,800 seats. The route increases Iberia's Italian network to 12 destinations.
China Eastern Airlines has commenced nonstop flights between Beijing Daxing and Bali, establishing the first direct air link between China's capital and the Indonesian island. The inaugural Airbus A330 service arrived at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on July 11. Indonesian airport operator InJourney Airports says the new route is expected to strengthen Bali's connectivity with China, which ranked as the island's second-largest source market during the first half of 2026 with about 297,000 visitor arrivals.
AJet has opened a new nonstop route between Sivas, Turkey, and Cologne Bonn Airport, Germany. The Turkish Airlines subsidiary will operate the route once a week on Wednesdays, with a flight time of about four hours.
Malaysia Airlines has launched new nonstop services from Kuala Lumpur to Shenzhen and Changsha, expanding its footprint in China, the carrier's second-largest international market by destinations served. Both services operate up to daily using Boeing 737-8 aircraft. With the additions, Malaysia Airlines now serves nine destinations in Greater China, including Beijing Daxing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shanghai Pudong, Taipei, Xiamen, Shenzhen and Changsha.
