Air France and SNCF French Railways have added eight more routes to their “Train + Air” service offering trains to and from Paris airports, enabling passengers to have a single itinerary for a combined trip.

The Air France-SNCF Train + Air service has been operating since the 1990s. The two companies offer passengers the ability to combine rail and air travel in the same reservation, connecting at Paris’s two main airports, Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Orly (ORY).

With the new additions, the option is now available on 41 SNCF train routes connecting 22 train stations to CDG and ORY.

The new routes include train service from Aix-en-Provence to ORY, as well as train service from Arras, Laval and Lille to both CDG and ORY. Also being added is train service between Perpignan and CDG. Aix-en-Provence-to-CDG service was already part of the partnership.

“Thanks to Train + Air, customers have a single reservation for their entire journey and a guaranteed seat on the next available flight or … [SNCF] train, free of charge, if their flight or train arrives late,” Air France says in a statement.

The airline adds the “environmentally friendly” travel solution is part of its effort to cut carbon dioxide emissions by 30% per passenger-kilometer by 2030 compared to 2019.
