Wizz Air has commenced flights between Bratislava and Tel Aviv, restoring direct connectivity between the Slovak capital and Israel. The service operates three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays using Airbus A321neo aircraft. According to Bratislava Airport, bookings on the first flights have been strong, with the route expected to generate significant inbound traffic from Israel.


FlyOne is expanding its Black Sea network with the launch of a new route between Chisinau, Moldova, and Batumi, Georgia. The service will begin on June 28 and operate 2X-weekly on Thursdays and Sundays. Batumi, located on the Black Sea coast, has become an increasingly important leisure market in the region, attracting visitors with its beaches, tourism infrastructure and growing hospitality sector. The route is aimed at both summer holiday traffic and travelers seeking cultural and city-break opportunities in Georgia.


KM Malta Airlines has launched a new route between Malta and Malaga, Spain. Flights will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays between Malta International Airport and Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport. The airline says the addition of Malaga forms part of its strategy to expand travel options across key European and Mediterranean markets while supporting tourism flows between Malta and Spain.

Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines will expand capacity between New Zealand and Singapore for the northern winter 2026-27 season, increasing seat capacity by 17% across their joint network. The airlines say the expanded operation, running from Oct. 25 through March 27, 2027, will add about 72,000 seats, bringing total capacity to more than 490,000 seats during the period. As previously announced, Air New Zealand will launch a 3X-weekly Christchurch-Singapore route using Boeing 787 aircraft. Combined with existing Singapore Airlines services, the sector will see up to 15X-weekly flights during peak months between November 2026 and February 2027. Air New Zealand will also add 4X-weekly Auckland services using 777 and 787 aircraft. Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines will reduce Auckland frequencies from three flights per day to 2X-daily but deploy Airbus A380 aircraft on one daily rotation, increasing overall seat capacity.


British Airways has launched a new seasonal route between London City Airport and Toulon-Hyeres Airport, France. Operated by BA CityFlyer, the 2X-weekly service will run through Sept. 1. The route provides the only nonstop London service to Toulon, which serves as a gateway to St. Tropez and the wider Provence region. The launch complements the carrier’s existing London City-Nice service.


Avianca has opened sales for a new daily route between Bogota and Maracaibo, further expanding its presence in the Venezuelan market. The new service is scheduled to begin on Aug. 28, subject to government approval, and will be operated using Airbus A320 aircraft with 180 seats. The airline says the route will add about 2,500 weekly seats between Colombia and western Venezuela and complement its existing 2X-daily Bogota-Caracas operation.


SkyUp Airlines has launched a new scheduled service between Chisinau, Moldova, and Madrid. The new route between Chisinau International Airport and Madrid operates twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Madrid becomes the latest Spanish destination served by the carrier alongside Alicante, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca.


Lufthansa is expanding premium long-haul capacity and adding new intercontinental routes across several airlines in its winter 2026-27 schedule. The airline will add 11 new long-haul destinations featuring its Allegris cabin product, including Vancouver, Houston, Denver, Atlanta, Detroit, Seoul and Kuala Lumpur from Frankfurt, as well as Singapore, Washington and Cape Town from Munich. The Kuala Lumpur route marks a resumption after a decade and will be served 5X-weekly from Oct. 25 using Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Frequencies are also being increased on Frankfurt-Rio de Janeiro, Bogota, Lagos and Hyderabad, alongside Munich-Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Johannesburg and Washington. As previously announced, Swiss will add Bengaluru as a new destination, marking its first service to southern India. Flights from Zurich will be 5X-weekly using Airbus A350s.

Jazeera Airways has scheduled the resumption of flights to London after an absence of almost six years. The airline will offer 4X-weekly flights between Kuwait City and London Luton from July 8 using Airbus A320neo aircraft. Frequencies will increase to daily in August. According to data provided by OAG Schedules Analyser, the airline last served the London market until August 2020 when it offered flights to London Gatwick Airport.


Ryanair has unveiled a record winter 2026-27 schedule for Bratislava Airport, Slovakia, adding four new routes and basing a fourth Boeing 737 aircraft at the airport. The ULCC’s winter program will include 23 routes, with new services to Paphos, Tirana, Turin and Warsaw. Ryanair says the expansion will increase annual passenger traffic in Bratislava by 125% to more than 2.2 million passengers. “Over the past year, Ryanair has reached a major milestone in Bratislava, expanding its base from two aircraft to three and now four aircraft after more than a decade of operating a two-aircraft base,” Bratislava Airport CEO Dušan Novota adds. “Thanks also to Ryanair’s continued growth, Bratislava has become one of the fastest-growing airports in Europe.”


Air France will add extra long-haul frequencies from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to several Asian destinations during June and July. The airline will operate six additional flights to Bangkok on June 2, 4, 7, 9, 11 and 14. Additional services are also planned to Mumbai on June 30 and July 7; Delhi on July 1 and 5; Bengaluru on July 3 and 10; and Singapore on June 12, 19 and 26. Separately, KLM will add 17 extra frequencies between Amsterdam and Nairobi.


LOT Polish Airlines has commenced nonstop flights between Warsaw and Porto, adding its second destination in Portugal after Lisbon. The new route from Warsaw Chopin Airport to Porto will operate year-round, with 5X-weekly flights during the summer season and 4X-weekly flights in winter. Summer services operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, with a flight time of about four hours. The airline says the new route builds on strong demand for travel to Portugal, adding that load factors on its Lisbon service exceeded 86% in 2025.

Vietnamese LCC VietJet will launch a new Hanoi-Prague service on Oct. 10, marking the carrier’s expansion into Europe. The route, originally scheduled to launch in July, will operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays via Almaty, Kazakhstan, using Airbus A330s. “Vietnam is the most significant market in the Southeast Asian region in terms of passenger numbers,” says Jiří Pos, CEO of Prague Airport. “In 2025, more than 75,000 people traveled between Prague and Hanoi in both directions. The new connection will make travel easier for the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic and their families. At the same time, we expect growth in tourism and greater accessibility of Vietnam for Czech travelers.”


Jazeera Airways has inaugurated flights between Kuwait City and Milan Bergamo Airport, marking the airline’s entry into the Italian market. The new route operates three times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays using Airbus A320neo aircraft. The launch establishes the first nonstop link between Milan Bergamo and Kuwait, expanding connectivity between Northern Italy and the Middle East. Giacomo Cattaneo, Director of Commercial Aviation, Marketing & Communications at SACBO, says the new service will create opportunities for tourism, business travel and VFR traffic.


Air Serbia has launched a new route between Belgrade and Toronto, restoring nonstop service between Serbia and Canada for the first time in more than 30 years. The route will operate 2X-weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays using Airbus A330-200 aircraft. Jiří Marek, CEO of Air Serbia, says the new service represents a “significant symbolic and strategic step forward” for the carrier, adding that Toronto becomes the airline’s third North American destination alongside New York and Chicago. Additionally, the airline has resumed Belgrade-Munich flights after an 18-year break. Service will be daily.

Air Transat has commenced nonstop services from Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport to Marseille, expanding its transatlantic network. The route operates once weekly on Thursdays through Oct. 9. Additionally, a Quebec City-Nantes service will begin June 2 with weekly Tuesday flights through Oct. 20. The Nantes route will also operate during the holiday season between Dec. 23 and Jan. 13.


Canada’s Porter Airlines has added nonstop service between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, marking the airline’s entry into the Austin market. The year-round route operates 5X-weekly using Embraer 195-E2 aircraft.


Icelandair has inaugurated flights between Reykjavik and Venice Marco Polo Airport, becoming the airline’s fourth destination in Italy. The new route operates three times per week on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays through Oct. 18 using Boeing 737-8 aircraft. Venice joins Rome, Milan and Verona in the carrier’s Italian network.


Aer Lingus has launched its first service between Dublin and Pittsburgh. The move expands its North American network to 24 routes from Ireland. Flights will operate four times per week using Airbus A321neo aircraft. “The Pittsburgh region's connections to Ireland run deep - both in today's strong business market and in ancestral ties,” Pittsburgh International Airport CEO Christina Cassotis says. “This is a route that community leaders have been seeking and the strong support we have received from the region since the flight's announcement show its importance.”
