Flydubai last night landed at its first Indian destination Lucknow, which is the capital of India's most populous state Uttar Pradesh, in the north east of the country.
Allegiant Air flew 419.07 million RPMs in May, up 10% year-over-year, on an 8.2% increase in capacity to 455.06 million ASMs. Load factor increased 1.5 points to 92.1%. Continental Airlines said May estimated consolidated RASM increased 23%-24% from the year-ago month while estimated mainline RASM rose 22.5%-23.5%. It flew 7.81 billion consolidated RPMs last month, up 3.7% year-over-year, as capacity lifted 0.2% to 9.33 billion ASMs. Load factor rose 2.9 points to 83.8%.
Vueling Airlines will start connecting passengers through its base at Barcelona El Prat from July 5, a move that it expects will allow it to carry 250,000-350,000 additional travelers this year and another 1 million or more next year. The new connectivity will provide passengers with 418 "Vueling-to-Vueling" city-pairs through Barcelona. Customers will buy only one ticket when booking the flights. Vueling will charge only one transaction fee and connect baggage at no additional charge despite its aim to increase ancillary revenue.
Qantas will introduce daily A380 service between Melbourne and London Heathrow and six-times-weekly A380 flights between Melbourne and Los Angele as its eighth, ninth and tenth A380s are delivered by the end of the 2011 first quarter. The services are expected to be launched by March 2011. Qantas has six A380s in service and expects to take delivery of its seventh in the final quarter of 2010, enabling Sydney-LHR A380 services to go daily.

Gulf Air today announced the launch of regular services to three new destinations - the Holy City of Medina in Saudi Arabia, Alexandria in Egypt and Aleppo in Syria all starting in June. F While in the past the airline has operated flights to Alexandria and Aleppo as part of its summer schedule, the airline has never flown to Medina before.
