Royal Jordanian has increased its spares holdings with a deal to acquire two additional Pratt & Whitney PW1900 engines.
The engine model is the powerplant on the Embraer E2 series, of which the Jordanian flag-carrier has acquired eight, split equally between E190s and E195s.
HALO AirFinance (HALO), a joint venture between GA Telesis and Tokyo Century Corporation, announced the closing of two senior secured loans to Royal Jordanian for its acquisition of the engines.
The facility supports Royal Jordanian’s fleet growth strategy and enhances its operational flexibility. HALO said it focuses on value-driven transactions, with an emphasis on mature and in-production equipment.
“The acquisition of these Pratt & Whitney PW1900 spare engines will significantly boost our operational readiness and reliability,” Royal Jordanian’s Vice-Chairman and CEO Samer Majali said. “We are pleased to partner with HALO AirFinance in securing this financing, which is a vital component of our ongoing fleet modernization and operational enhancement strategy.”
Royal Jordanian has an operating fleet of 30 aircraft, plus an additional five aircraft in parked or stored status, according to the Aviation Week Network Fleet Discovery database. The airline’s in service fleet comprises nine Airbus A320ceo family aircraft, four A320neos, an A321F freighter, seven Boeing 787-8s, two E175s, three E190-E2s and four E195-E2s.
