Regional aircraft lessor TrueNoord has sold two Embraer E-190 aircraft to existing lessee customer, Airlink.

The aircraft were delivered to the South African regional carrier in December 2025. The carrier plans to salvage components from the airframes and retain the engines as spare units amid ongoing global supply chain issues.

The airline is also assessing the possibility of returning the aircraft to service in the future.

Airlink CEO de Villiers Engelbrecht said securing the aircraft is a strategic move to safeguard the reliability of its Embraer fleet.

“By acquiring additional engines and components, we can mitigate the impact of global supply chain disruptions and maintain the high standards of service our customers expect,” Engelbrecht says.

Airlink has operated Embraer aircraft since 2001. The airline’s current fleet of Embraer aircraft amounts to 65, covering models from the ERJ family to the first-generation E-Jets.

The two E-190s purchased from TrueNoord were previously leased by U.S. carrier Breeze Airways, the lessor noted.
