As part of plans to expand its MRO capabilities, Belgian company Sabena Engineering has acquired a 70% stake in UK-based Aircamo Group.

The agreement for the majority stake in the Hawarden, Wales-headquartered company was confirmed to Belgian media on July 4.

Aircamo has operated in Wales since 2015 and specializes in minor aircraft and engine repairs. Its Manchester-based Aircamo Aviation business provides asset management and airworthiness services for both commercial and business aircraft.

The investment in Aircamo continues the expansion plans of Sabena’s Belgian parent company the Orizio Group. In summer 2022, it acquired Lufthansa Technik Brussels and Lufthansa Technik Maintenance International, which operated as the company’s line maintenance business for customers outside Germany.

Aircamo’s services cover Airbus, Boeing, Embraer and Bombardier aircraft types. Its commercial engine capabilities include CFM56-3/5/7 and Leap engines; IAE V2500s; and Rolls-Royce RB211-535s, Trent 700s and 1000s. Additionally, it also offers repair services for selected auxiliary power unit models.
