WICHITA—Yingling Aviation continues to grow with the acquisition of Bevan Aviation, which is celebrating its 70th year in business as a general aviation avionics maintenance provider.
Both companies are located blocks away from one another at Wichita’s Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Yingling is a provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul and fixed-base operation services to business and general aviation customers. Bevan is an FAA Part 145 repair station with expertise in the installation, maintenance and repair of avionics, communications systems, auto pilots, navigation units, GPS units and transponders. The company, previously known as Bevan Rabell, specializes in piston aircraft and small jets. It is a Garmin dealer.
Adding Bevan to the company will bring additional capacity and technical capabilities to Yingling and help meet rising demand for maintenance and refurbishment of aircraft, Yingling officials say.
Bevan was founded in 1954. In 2022, the company lost its longtime owner and president Kent McIntyre, who died in 2022.
“We are excited to welcome the Bevan team to Yingling and look forward to leveraging their decades of avionics expertise to continue to add value for our growing customer base,” says Bob Rasberry, Yingling Aviation CEO.
The Bevan Aviation team looks forward to joining Yingling, says Jacob Kinsey, Bevan vice president and sales manager. “With our combined expertise, we can continue to focus on delivering quality avionics retrofits, aircraft maintenance and bench repairs while providing additional capabilities for our valued customers,” Kinsey says.
In March, Yingling acquired Mid-Continent Aviation Services, a privately owned full-service MRO also located at the Wichita airport.
In June 2023, AE Industrial Partners, a Florida-based private equity firm specializing in aerospace, defense and government services and other areas, acquired a majority interest in Yingling Aviation, a once privately owned company. Yingling Chairman and CEO Lynn Nicols and President Andrew Nichols, his son, remain active leaders and investors in Yingling.
