Manufacturer and MRO provider ST Engineering reported growing demand for its commercial aerospace products in the first quarter.
Across its commercial maintenance and aerostructures lines, the Singapore-based company secured S$1.7 billion ($1.3 billion) in new contracts during the first quarter of 2026, up from S$1.3 billion in the prior-year period, according to an April 27 update.
The company had already reported record commercial revenues in 2025, with sales having more than doubled on the pre-pandemic mark and ST Engineering remains on track to meet its target of revenue growth in the segment of double the industry growth rate of 3-4% per year.
Within the lucrative engine maintenance space, ST Engineering announced in February that China’s Xiamen Airlines had entrusted it with the airline’s first performance restoration shop visit (PRSV) of a CFM Leap-1A engine.
ST Engineering is currently gearing up to achieve PRSV capabilities for both Leap engine types followed by full overhaul services.
As with other MRO providers, component work is a significant driver of revenue growth for ST Engineering. Momentum continued there during the first quarter with a contract from Skymark Airlines for Boeing 737 MAX flight hour-based support and 737NG landing gear overhauls.
The company was also busy in the airframe space, in which it hopes to add double-digit capacity over the next few years. In the recent quarter it won a contract from a U.S. airline for Airbus airframe heavy maintenance and cabin modification, and another to support an air freight operator’s airframe heavy maintenance for its Boeing fleets.
Meanwhile, ST Engineering’s freighter conversion business, in partnership with EFW, secured contracts for Airbus A330-300 passenger-to-freighter conversions from aircraft lessors Hengqin Winglet Aircraft Technology and Asia Pacific Aviation Leasing.
