Engine repair specialist MTU Maintenance has joined forces with line and base maintenance provider Nayak Group to broaden their MRO service offerings.

Under the terms of the agreement, MTU will provide on-site engine services in combination with aircraft line and base maintenance services carried out by Nayak.

In return, Nayak will also grow its engine service offerings which will be conducted by MTU. Currently, Nayak provides lighter engine services such as performance washes, changes and borescopes.

Jörg Sauerland, managing director of Nayak Germany, says the company can further offer “a wide range of solutions.” In total, Nayak operates 50 facilities in 16 countries and performs line and base maintenance services to more than 75 aircraft and engine combinations.

MTU meanwhile has looked to ready itself for an upturn in engine MRO demand and last year opened a new facility with quick-turn docks at its Berlin-Brandenberg site.

“This agreement is the next step in MTU’s commitment to our customers to increase our services and network and become the number one on-site engine service provider in Europe,” says Martin Friis-Petersen, SVP MRO Programs, MTU Aero Engines.
