SINGAPORE—Capital A MRO venture Asia Digital Engineering (ADE) is set to open its first overseas subsidiary in Cambodia after the company received the Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) certification from the country’s State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA).

ADE Cambodia Co Ltd is a joint venture with Sivilai Asia Co Ltd, the same company that set up AirAsia Cambodia with Capital A.

The company will be headquartered at Phnom Penh International Airport and will first serve AirAsia Cambodia Airbus A320s as well as potential other airlines in the country. The full scope of MRO services is still being deliberated.

“This milestone comes just weeks after the momentous launch of AirAsia Cambodia and its inaugural flight, underscoring Capital A’s steadfast commitment to expanding our footprint for all of our associated lines of business leveraging on the success of our fast-growing aviation group,” Capital A CEO Tony Fernandes said in a statement.

The Aviation Week Network Fleet Discovery database shows there are 11 in-service A320s in Cambodia, operated by AirAsia Cambodia, Cambodia Airways, Cambodia Angkor Air, and Sky Angkor Air.
