Stronger shop visit volumes in the resilient widebody engine market contributed to underlying revenues of £7.2 billion ($9.7 billion) in Rolls-Royce’s commercial aftermarket division for 2025.

The OEM cited large-engine aftermarket growth, contractual margin gains and improved spare-engine profitability as main contributors to overall civil aerospace performance.

Major shop visits for large commercial engines rose to 517 inductions in 2025, up from 430 a year earlier. Shop visits conducted under long-term service agreements totaled 1,079 over 12 months, bringing the total number of large-engine visits to 1,596. Two durability enhancement packages for the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 introduced last year are expected to reduce long-term maintenance demand, with the company projecting 1,300-1,400 annual large-engine shop visits by 2028.

Aftermarket gains came despite ongoing supply chain constraints, which reduced engine deliveries to 259 in 2025, down from 278 in 2024. Deliveries declined for the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-84 powering the Airbus A350, the Trent 1000 for the Boeing 787, and the Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 for the Airbus A330neo, while deliveries of the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 edged higher.

To expand capacity, Rolls-Royce has invested across its global MRO network, supporting a more than 50% increase in large-engine shop visits over the past three years. Capacity was added in Derby, England; Dahlewitz, Germany; and Singapore in 2025, with a further 20% network increase planned by the midterm to support fleet growth.

At the end of 2025, Rolls-Royce brought the Beijing Aero Engine Services Ltd. joint venture with Air China online. By the mid-2030s, the facility will support up to 250 Trent XWB-84, Trent 1000 and Trent 700 overhauls annually. The company also has a partnership with Turkish Technic in place to establish a maintenance center in Istanbul, scheduled for late 2027. The facility will support up to 200 shop visits annually for Trent XWB-84, Trent XWB-97 and Trent 7000 engines.
