Cirrus has received Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) approval for its SR Series G7+ equipped with Garmin’s Safe Return Emergency Autoland for use in Brazil. The approval paves the way for deliveries into Brazil.

Emergency Autoland allows passengers to push a button in the event of an emergency, which will cause the aircraft to autonomously navigate to the nearest airport. It will also communicate with air traffic control and execute a fully autonomous landing in the event of an emergency.

Safe Return Emergency Autoland can be activated manually and automatically by anyone in the cabin. It also can activate automatically if the system determines that the pilot is unresponsive or is flying erratically. The pilot may also disconnect the autopilot.

Cirrus also offers automatic database updates powered by Cirrus IQ Pro through a subscription in the Cirrus IQ app for connected owners of the SR Series G7+. The aircraft also includes Runway Occupancy Awareness that leverages ADS-B traffic data to predict and alert pilots of potential runway incursions through visual and aural alerts. It also includes Smart Pitot Heat, enabled by systems integration through Perspective Touch to reduce pilot workload.
