Lancaster Airport (KLNS) near Lancaster, Pennsylvania, will reopen its main runway July 1 following the completion of a third phase of its runway improvement project, FBO LNS Alliance Aviation announced.

The reopening of the 6,933-ft., east-west Runway 08-26 and three taxiways marks the completion of phase 3 of a four-phase runway improvement project started in 2021, LNS Alliance Aviation said. The project upgrades and standardizes the runway and taxiway surfaces and mitigates storm-water ponding at midfield. KLNS has a second runway, 13-31.

“We’re grateful for the flying public’s patience while we continue to improve the runway facilities at Lancaster Airport,” said LNS Alliance Aviation Manager Mary Forney. “The resurfacing and drainage improvements are necessary for safer, smoother landings and safety is always our top priority.”

LNS Alliance Aviation is the sole full-service fixed-base operator (FBO) at the municipal airport located 40 mi. southeast of Harrisburg. Its new 6,700-ft.² facility contains pilot and passenger lounges, a flight planning area and concierge service for car rentals, hotel accommodations and catering arrangements.

Aircraft accommodations include ramp tie-down, heated hangar rentals and full-service Jet A and 100LL fueling from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Self-service 100LL fueling is available 24 hours a day. In honor of the runway reopening, the FBO said it is offering a Jet A fuel promotion from July 1-31.
