SyberJet SJ36 single-pilot light jet.
Following an unveiling and launch of the SyberJet SJ36 single-pilot light jet on the eve of NBAA-BACE, officials report they have taken letters of intent for more than 50 jets.
The event, dubbed SyberJet World, was filled with fanfare, lights, smoke and hundreds of attendees.
The full-scale mockup with working SyberVision proprietary avionics panels has been on display at NBAA’s static display at Henderson Executive Airport in Nevada. The letters of intent (LOI) come from customers across business aviation, such as charter operators, corporate flight departments and private owners. Several customers have reserved multiple aircraft, the company reports.
“What is drawing them in is the airplane itself,” officials say. “The SJ36 is designed to be the fastest and farthest-flying light jet ever built, with a projected maximum speed of Mach 0.88, a range of up to 3,000 nm and 49,000-ft. ceiling.”
The performance puts the aircraft in midsize-jet territory while keeping light-jet economics, it says.
The cabin will seat up to eight passengers.
The response to the unveiling event was “incredible,” says Trevor Milton, SyberJet Aircraft CEO. “It was the first time customers could see what they have committed to. More than 50 commitments tell us the market has been waiting for innovation,” Milton says. “Light jet buyers have always had to choose between speed, range and cost. The SJ36 lets them have all three.”
SyberJet, based in Chandler, Arizona, is also updating and building the SJ30, changing its name to the SJ34.
