The Vantage Airport Group celebrated enhanced connectivity between it's own airports during World Routes when it organised an official cake cutting ceremony to mark the introduction of flights between Liverpool, UK and Larnaca, Cyprus next month.

As revealed earlier this year, UK low-fare carrier easyJet is to launch twice weekly flights between Liverpool's John Lennon Airport in the UK and Larnaca International Airport in Cyprus. The flights, operating every Tuesday and Saturday, will be operated by an Airbus A320 from November 2, 2013 as part of an expanded easyJet offering from the North West UK airport following the signing of a new long-term contract.

“Northern England travelers will have the opportunity to experience the largest island in the Mediterranean and enjoy the more than 300 days of sunshine that Cyprus offers every year,” said Lee Lipton, director of air service marketing at Vantage Airport Group. “This new connection between our airline and airport partners is a market opportunity that we helped identify and translate into flights that benefit our partners and the communities—and passengers—they serve.”

Liverpool John Lennon Airport serves a catchment area of 6.7 million people and is a convenient departure point for those seeking an island getaway. Cyprus is a popular sun destination rich in history and culture. It’s also the southern-most gateway airport to surrounding European countries.
