Taif connected following dual launch by Nasair
Saudi Arabia's value carrier Nasair has launched international flights from the city of Taif as well as adding to its domestic network by launching flights from the city to the Saudi capital Riyadh.
In a special celebration held in the presence of a GACA and regional officials, the airline began operations to Kuwait and Riyadh.
Nasair CEO François Bouteiller along with the GM of domestic airports operations at GACA and the director general of Taif airport cut a cake to commemorate the dual launch. Afterwards, they received the passengers of the first flight coming back from Kuwait with gifts and flowers and wished them a pleasant stay in Taif; similarly they bid farewell to those who were leaving on the first flight from Riyadh wishing them a safe and happy flight.
Bouteiller said: “Taif’s strategic location with its continuous growth of travel demand encouraged nasair to expand its operation to this important part of the kingdom.
“Launching the new destination of Taif – Riyadh and Taif – Kuwait is considered as a historic accomplishment in the successful journey of nasair. Since the inception of the airline seven years ago, the company has achieved a remarkable growth in an exceptional period of time and in fact we could have never accomplished this triumph without the support of our loyal customers all over the years.
Bouteiller said that customers in both cities had been pressing for a service and he said he saw significant leisure traffic likely between the cities which he felt could lead to an increase in flights.
The move follows a signing of a franchise agreement earlier this year between the airline and Global Holidays in Kuwait. At the time Bouteiller, said: “We are extremely excited about signing this key agreement in Kuwait with Global Holidays. as it reflects our commitment to inbound customers “nasair aims that through the franchisee program it will not only create convenient locations for its esteemed passengers to purchase Nasair tickets, but that it will also serve to boost the local entrepreneurship culture, creating job opportunities for the local community.”
