ROUTES AFRICA: TAAG Angola Delays Beijing Relaunch

TAAG Angola has put back the planned resumption of its Luanda – Beijing route, according to the latest changes to its GDS schedule. The airline was due to relaunch a weekly flight between the two destinations this week, however it now appears that it will start the service from August 2; one month later than planned.

TAAG Angola will use its new 777-300ER to the Chinese capital, a type which recently made its debut on the airline’s flights to Brazil. Already a 777-200ER operator, TAAG Angola took delivery of its first -300ER on June 16 and is due to receive a second later this month. The 293-seat aircraft is currently being used on three flights per week from Luanda to Rio de Janeiro and three of the carrier’s four weekly rotations to Sao Paulo.
