Puerto Rico Selected As Host For Routes Americas 2027

Puerto Rico, has been selected to host the 20th edition of Routes Americas, following one of the strongest years in the destination’s tourism history.

The air service development event, focused on advancing connectivity across North America, Latin America and the Caribbean, will be hosted by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company in 2027.

Serving as a major gateway between North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean islands, San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport recorded more than 6.8 million passenger arrivals in 2025, marking a year-on-year increase of more than 3%. Growth in air connectivity and cruise traffic, combined with continued investment in hotel infrastructure, has solidified the island’s position as a world-class tourist destination.

Through innovative green infrastructure, eco-friendly transportation, and support for local businesses, San Juan is also widely considered a leader in the promotion of responsible tourism. The destination’s dedication to sustainability ensures a vibrant, resilient future for both residents and visitors.
