Meet The Winners: Cebu Pacific

During Routes Asia 2024 in Langkawi, Cebu Pacific shared its recent successes, upcoming development plans, and what it meant to win the Airline Category at the Routes Awards.

Cebu Pacific and subsidiary Cebgo handled 20.9 million passengers in 2023, marking a year-on-year rise of more than 40%. As well as adding flights to Melbourne and Hong Kong during the year, new services included operations between Manila and Da Nang International Airport (DAD), Vietnam—a route that originated from conversations that took place during Routes Asia 2022 in the Vietnamese city.

The LCC also resumed hub activities from Clark International Airport (CRK) in April 2023, which was made possible by collaboration with Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corporation on a new incentive scheme. This led to the resumption and launch of 15 domestic and international destinations serving the Northern Luzon area.

While addressing challenges surrounding supply chains and fleet availability, Marciella Valdivia, network planning manager, said that Cebu Pacific is actively seeking new destinations while protecting its current network. The airline plans strengthen its position in the Asian market, particularly in Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam. New routes launching over the coming weeks include service between Manila and Bangkok Don Mueang from July 16.

Additionally, with a commitment to decarbonization, Cebu Pacific plans to shift to an all-Neo fleet by 2028, resulting in a 17% to 29% reduction in CO2 emissions per passenger. The move is part of efforts to double its fleet by 2035.

On winning the prestigious Airline Award during Routes Asia 2024, Valdivia said, “We are very honored to receive this award and recognition. We remain committed to providing excellent service to our passengers and customers.”

As a Routes 360 member, Cebu Pacific outline their airline requirements and updated contacts through its profile for other members to access.
