Jetstar to serve Osaka

Melbourne based, Jetstar Airways has announced that it plans to launch new non stop scheduled service from Cairns to Osaka Japan, from April 01, 2010. The new route is subject to regulatory approval and will be operated on a 4x weekly rotation.

The annoucement comes in the wake of Jetstar CEO Bruce Buchanan confirming the subsidary carrier of Qantas has seen a steady increase in passenger growth (20%) for its services between Japan and Australia.

Jetstar currently operates a daily service between Tokyo Narita and Cairns. (A330-200)

It also has scheduled services from Gold Coast to Osaka (Kansai) and also from Gold Coast to Tokyo Narita, both operated on a daily service with A330-200 equipment.
