ULCC Frontier Airlines will open a crew base at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) next year.

The base is expected to open in March 2024, with plans for more than 300 Frontier employees to be stationed at CLE by the end of March 2025, including up to 110 pilots, 250 flight attendants and 50 aircraft maintenance personnel.

Frontier currently operates to 17 destinations from Cleveland.

“We’re excited to partner with the Cleveland community as we continue to expand our operation at CLE and bring meaningful economic impact to the area through new jobs,” Frontier CEO Barry Biffle says in a statement. “A crew base also positively impacts customers as it helps to support smooth flight operations. Our new crew base reflects our commitment to continued growth at CLE.”

CLE Director Bryand Adams adds: “Frontier Airlines has been a key partner in helping CLE rebuild and redefine our market over the last nine years. This announcement further solidifies Frontier’s commitment to both Cleveland Hopkins and northeast Ohio as an increasingly important member of the business community.”

Destinations served from CLE by Frontier include: Atlanta; Charlotte, North Carolina; Cancun, Mexico; Denver; Dallas-Fort Worth; Las Vegas; Philadelphia; Phoenix; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Frontier also serves six Florida destinations from CLE: Fort Lauderdale; Fort Myers; Miami; Orlando; Sarasota; and Tampa.
