Emirates Airline has signed a codeshare agreement with Batik Air Malaysia for flights beyond Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) to eight destinations.

Emirates passengers will be able to connect at KUL via the carrier’s flights from Dubai. Emirates will place its code on Batik Air’s flights from KUL to five domestic destinations in Malaysia: Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Langkawi and Penang.

Emirates will also place its code on Batik Air flights from KUL to Singapore and Indonesian destinations Denpasar and Jakarta.

“Emirates’ customers will also have the option to stopover in Kuala Lumpur before proceeding to their final destinations,” Emirates says in a statement. “The airline will further gain access to eight additional destinations operated by Batik Air via Kuala Lumpur for interline transfers.”

"Malaysia is an important market in our Far East network, and we’re pleased to offer increased connectivity," says Orhan Abbas, Emirates’ senior vice president for commercial operations for the Far East. "Through this partnership, we’ll further expand our network reach to more than 1,490 cities worldwide.”
